It is outside of the main hubbub of Ubud, instead of cars and crowds of tourists you are surrounded by gardens and terraced rice patties. The villas are immaculate and so special. The indoor/outdoor living quarters and plunge pool combine comfort and luxury to make you never want to leave. There is a free shuttle bus to take you to Ubud and back throughout the day. But with a setting like Villa Semana, you might just want to stay. Things to enjoy on site: restaurant, pool, spa, creek, private tour of local village and rice patties. The only reason I gave it 4 stars on room comfort instead of 5 is that the bed was quite firm. Nevertheless, I'll be back. Loved it.

Royal kamuela villa is by far the nicest place I have ever stayed, the service was amazing and the staff were never without a smile. Staying for 5 days as a younger couple, it was pure luxury. The villa was beautiful in every way and the pillows..!! Most comfortable thing in the world. The pool was bigger than we expected, and seeing sitting on the wall was a bonus!
We had a massage in the spa which was incredible and a private yoga lesson in our villa with the sweetest Balinese man.
I would recommend royal kamuela to anybody and everybody, you get exactly what you pay for and so much more!
Thank you for making our stay in Ubud a memorable one!
I spent a week at The Chedi Club, Ubud. As this was my first trip to Asia and traveling alone, I really needed transportation to/from the airport. I heard horror stories of taxi experiences and that the airport was a bit hectic. My brief experience there was accurate and along came my driver who knew a lot about the area while we made the hour long trip to the resort. I felt a great sense of security with the security guard and gate at the entrance. The resort is very quiet and provides a sense that nothing else is around and yet there is a busy town right outside. The accommodations were spotless each day I was there and many items are included in the stay such as minibar, snacks, fresh organic fruit, robe, slippers, you name it. My room was the perfect size and as I lucked out with perfect weather. The bathroom was amazing, it's actually outdoors. Beautiful tub and toiletries and strong hair dryer which is rare in hotels. There is an infinity pool and because there are only 21 villas total, there was never a crowd at the pool. Fresh water is brought out with sunscreen. It really was these added touches that made the experience even better. I participated in a cooking class, almost all spa treatments, a traditional Balinese dance and dinner and even rice trekking. I loved the fact that many of the activities I wanted to do was right on property and reasonably priced. Staff is awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better place. One of the best vacations ever experienced.

"Secluded hideaway with convenient access to town"
We enjoyed the room, the garden view and the big well maintained pool very much. Upon request, they also accommodated our honeymoon occasion and presented with floral decoration on our porch and tub. We had breakfast in the villa as well as in their restaurant with the rice field view. The breakfast was good - the pancakes were nicely plated. In addition to the rice fields, the villa also had wonderful river valley view you can enjoy during your complementary afternoon tea, or if you choose to have dinner or the romantic package. The manager made sure that we were happy. We also enjoyed the easily arranged complementary shuttle to town, which opens up our meal choices and daytime tour choices. Within their grounds, they also had buggy if your walk to the lobby was too far. It was a wonderful stay and we will plan to stay here again for a great holiday.
All the staffs are nice and friendly, great facilities, great breakfast. u also get free shuttle (8 seated car) to Ubud town every hour till 5pm, and free return shuttle as well. Very convenient. The hotel has great surrounding mountain views and rice fields views ( rice fields seen from the in house tree top spa house, but spa a little pricey). Our private pool doesn't have the valley or river view as per promoted photo ( rather the other side of our villa oversees the river and mountains, the pool view was blocked by large trees and plants, so not much view from there) , so make sure you double check with the hotel what view you get for your booking, each villa has slightly different views.
Overall, it was a great hotel, will come again perhaps at ordinary rooms next time.
This was my second stay at Ubud Village Resort and Spa and did not disappoint . From the moment you arrive the staff are outstanding in making your stay special . It was our wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty , from our outdoor marble bath filled with flower petals and a delicious chocolate cake , complementary foot massage and back massage in the tranquil spa . You really don't want to leave the property it is so relaxing . Breakfast room overlooks the grass fields , you could be in the middle of the countryside not on the edge of bustling Ubud. Shuttle service takes you to Ubud centre every hour which we made use of , but taxis would be very cheap . We walked a couple of times. If you want to give yourself a treat you could not find a better place to stay , the little piece if paradise I said in my review three years ago has not lost it's appeal and is even more polished. Thank you for making our visit so special.
The pool down near the spa was amazing and well worth the experience. We also had time to embark on the nature walk which was informative and a great way to spend some time.
Overall this experience is one of the best I have had in all of my international travels.
A big thank you to the great staff who looked after us.
