The location is perfect in order to visit all downtown. The place is quiet, the staff very polite & friendly, the room was very clean, rustic and every day the towels were a piece of art.
At the restaurant I met Sergio, the owner (who told me that the bank and him were the owners -great sens of humor-), and he invited me to join his team who was setting a new promotional Internet video. I had a great time. I'm sure that if I return to San Cristóbal it will be there.
stay was just for the one night in Tuxtla Gutierrez, and the young man driving us to the airport (Best Western shuttle) was extremely helpful and personable, however the rest of hotel personnel lacked being helpful.
Pros - Great downtown location, historic building and charming rooms
Cons - Internet was virtually non-existent (no internet in room) and for the most part not working in lobby, I paid for hotel via Expedia but hotel staff could not initially locate payment and tried to double charge me for nights. Bathroom had not been cleaned when I arrived (no towels and hair everywhere).
Excellent facility, high quality but not too expensive restaurant on facilities, very clean, very attentive, I didn't need it but I heard staff speak good English to those that did. The pool is too small for laps, I never saw anyone in it, but otherwise everything was top notch.
