Lovely older hotel near the water. Very much enjoyed the easy walk to town, delicious breakfast buffet and spa. The property is grand and well kept but a little older. We wish they would have had air conditioning but otherwise all was great!

Nice and peaceful hotel in a very beautilful area and enviroment. Hotel was neat and tidy, but the condition was in some places, especially in the spa section, not so good and modern. Thai Garden was one of the best thai food experiences we've ever had so strong recommendation to that restaurant.

Pros: room and the spa were nice and clean, breakfast and dinner were ok. Cons: not all all services were available - some bars and restaurants were closed or were open a very limited time. Check-in was tedious, people were forced to queue outside the building for a long time. Customers also had to pay for the parking.

The good: First time in Naantali spa. We were travelling with our two kids, who thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Theh loved the pool area, which was surprisingly nice for an old Finnish hotel. Water temperature in the outdoor pool was very nice, and indoor was ok though nit on the cold side. The experience was akin to being on a cruise shop - bit shabby but fun. The bad: Our room had no aircon. The whole main building has no aircon. We had a hot & sweaty night, waking up really tired. While the room had a ”balcony” it was very strange, an extension of a roof with moss growing on in patches. The breakfast was worst I’ve ever had in a hotel. Veggies were dry, everything that was prepared had a strange sour taste, like old grease. I couldn’t finish my portion. The cost of the room vs. what you get is so ridiculously out of sync it’s allost

Mixed feelings on overall experience
Hotel is located in a nice area of Naantali next to the water. My main disappointment was that the comfort rooms do not have an air conditioning inside although some renovations occurred at some point and it was rather hot inside; a small fan in the room did not make any improvements when temperature inside is over 27deg. Although the rooms doesn’t come cheap, still certain services had to be paid for such as the use of the tennis court and some games inside the kids games room. Spa area is nice and spacious. Breakfast food was good and a variety of restaurants on site provide a good choice for dining.

Very nice place with everything you need. Because Moomin world is in Naantali you can expect having a lot of kids hanging around.m, that’s not always ‘spa-ish’

Good place to spend Christmas
We stayed at Naantali Spa Hotel Residence during Christmas 2018. It was overall good. Families with children should be aware that Residence is not in the same building as the pool and main hotel area. This a bit challanging in winter. The hotel service is ok. We complained about a specific smell in the room, due to heating probably, and they kindly upgraded us to suit. It is nice hotel to spend Christmas, peaceful and good spirit. Pool area is not very suitable for small kids, no shallow pool, but we enjoyed with a 3 year old still. The water temperature could be warner though. Naantali is a very nice town, especially during summer and its very good that hotel is just walking distance. Thank you, we may repeat this but this time at the main building, not residence 😊.

Needs investment, particularly in air con!
The hotel advertises air con but sleeping in a vest with no covers I found myself too warm, we asked reception and they said they'd ask building maintenance to turn the temperature down. There was no appreciable difference. We went onto our balcony in the evening as the room was too hot. Mopeds and trial bikes were nipping around the lake at the back of the hotel (where our room was) at 11.30pm (clearly not the hotel's fault per se, but hardly peaceful!). We were eaten alive by mosquitoes and called it a night after 15 minutes. Sunset was nice though! The bathroom and wooden furniture in the room must be 30 years old, and whilst quite well maintained there are watermarks and surfaces are worn. So, a lousy night of sweaty sleep! Breakfast wasn't great, felt like a scrum and bits kept running out. It wasn't obvious if you seated yourself or signed in. Somehow I didn't fancy much of the food. Shower was hot and pressure good, even on the 4th floor. Didn't try out the pool or spa, the walk to Moomin World is about 20 mins and pleasant. It just wasn't a 5* experience, certainly for the price we paid.

Very friendly staff although they didn't take me seriously when I pointed out their New York Clock was an hour wrong! When I mentioned it again 24 hours later I was treated in rather a patronising way.

Stay ruined by flooded bathroom & poor staff
What would have otherwise been an excellent stay, was ruined by a flooded bathroom floor after each shower. After the first time that the drain in the shower did not drain fast enough to keep from flooding the rest of the bathroom floor with a 1/2 inch of water that would not drain back to the shower drain, we called the front desk and reported the problem. The front desk sent two ladies up right away, but they merely used squeegees to push the water from in front of the vanity into the drain in the shower, then cleaned the area. We told them that maintenance should come up and fix the problem but they insisted we try it again, and if it flooded again, they would get ahold of maintenance. After the second shower, same results, vanity area of bathroom flooded with about 1/2 inch of water. Called the front desk for the second time, they sent up the ladies to clean up and said they would get a hold of maintenance to fix the problem. We were out of our room most of the day and evening, and did not see any note concerning whether or not maintenance had been there to fix the problem with the slow draining shower drain. The next morning when we took a shower...again the bathroom flooded...obviously the maintenance people did not come and fix the problem and when we checked out the clerk said there wasn't any note about a problem. Unacceptable service by the hotel staff. Did not expect this type of service, especially from a hotel this expensive.

Comfortable hotel
The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to Naantali town. We stayed in double deluxe room, which had been refurbished in 2012. Last time, in 2015 we stayed in normal double room, which is in serious need of updating to these days standards. Generally the hotel lobby would benefit of having an refurbishment and some new sofas and tables. It was very disappointing that as hotel customer we needed to pay for the parking. The breakfast is OK, very busy and there are queues to get the food if going around 9.00. We had a dinner in Le Soleil restaurant and the food and service were great! The spa is OK, it just looks bit old and would benefit of overall refurbishment. I found it surprising that there were nothing for children to play as the hotel is full of families at summer time due to Moomin land near by. The quality of the masseuse (Indian Head Massage) and also the podiatry were fantastic! I can totally recommend the treatments.

Wonderful stay
We only stayed one night and we wished we stayed a few more. We took the trail into the beachside city and it was a wonderful walk. The city shops weren't all open but we were not there for the summer holiday, I heard it gets a little livelier then. The hotel was comfy and had everything we needed. The kids and I both enjoyed the pool/sauna area .

Luxurious and relaxing hotel in lovely Naantali
Luxurious spa hotel in a very good setting. Spa facilities were excellent, and deluxe room was excellent. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful, and restaurant waiters very knowledgable about wines. Only downside was the need to use our room towels in the spa, as extra towels are not routinely provided.

Great summer spot
My family stayed here for one night. The facilities were wonderful, the pool area enjoyed by all the kids. Excellent breakfast. Quite a walk into town, but a beautiful one and easily done. They should have a map of the facility for orientation upon arrival. Also, the parking and mini-golf should be included. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay.

The place to be in Western Finland
A great stay in this hotel - close to Moominworld (walking distance along the water) and driving distance to Turku. Would stay here again and it was a very relaxing stay!

Sadly I only stayed here for 11 hours, arriving at 10pm and leaving at 9am so I was unable to enjoy many of the Hotels facilities. It was recommended to me by a Naantali local and my stay was comfortable. The breakfast was nice and there was plenty of choice. Was strange being a businessman in a hotel full of holiday makers though.

Good stay overall and easy check in/out process. Rooms are not 5 star standard thoughts price seems high - no bath and older style shower that flooded on every use- no tea/drink facilities in room or iron. Spa facilities are excellent. Restaurants are good except if you are vegetarian.

The Hotel and services are very family friendly. Easy access to Muuminland - a small cha-cha train takes you there. I only wish they would have a separate children's pool in the spa. Everything else was super!

Beautiful location with a great view.
Every hotel on modern world should have rooms with central air conditioner, far to hot room temperature without any control for cooling. Spa men's dressing room floor lot of litters, wet paper hand towels on the floor, and no attendant to do cleaning on there. Not enough steam on the Turkish steam room. Finnish sauna has a excellent soft " Loyly". Room convenient bar far overpriced rip off. Dinners and vines bit overpriced to the menu, lot of kids food.
