We couldnt sleep. Our room 3311 was next to a generator. Noise all night. Toilet was running. No racks to hang your towel. No complementary water in the rooms.We payed 385 u.s. per night. Conceige was hilarious. They didnt know when places open or close. Overall they just didnt care. Would not recommend this place.

Regarding bottled water, indeed you are correct, this is not something we provide in our rooms, and we do not advertise that we do. We were quite surprised and concerned about your experience with our concierge and would like to know more. We usually have very nice remarks about her. This property is small and cute and great for a quiet family vacation. The room we stayed in could use some updates (hooks were missing, microwave didn't work) but was large enough to accommodate us. The concierge was not friendly nor knowledgeable- talking to other visitors was much more helpful! The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The Sands offers a free shuttle to their sister hotels. We went to the Shore Club where the staff were extremely rude and would not even allow us to sit in their chairs after purchasing beverages. If a shuttle is offered, it seems odd that you can't use the amenities there or purchase a day pass to use them. The only other downfall we found was it was very difficult to locate snacks or water. The gift shop closed early and for a large portion of the afternoon for lunch break. Vending machines on the property would be ideal!

BEWARE!! The pictures online are FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! The room I received does not reflect the photos the hotel has posted online of the room. When confronting management about this issue I was told that the room pictured online does not even exist anymore. Despite not receiving the room that I paid for, hotel management was not helpful in resolving this issue. Absolutely lacked proper communication and were extremely stubborn. Do not recommend!!

Dear Hemal,Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. We were happy to have spoken with your during stay and upon departure. The Expedia picture online is a Junior Suite Courtyard on the third floor. The room you reserved is exactly the same layout and amenities as that room on the third floor. The only exception is your room was on the first floor.The manager explained we were unable to move you to the third-floor location as all the Junior Courtyard rooms were already occupied or reserved and you expressed not wanting to move. Kindly note all of our rooms were renovated in the fall/winter of 2023 with new furniture as noted: sofa sleeper, armchair, sofa rug, coffee table, side table, headboard, bed frame, new full kitchenette (sink, faucet, refrigerator, microwave, back splash, new bathroom vanity, bathroom mirror, new bathroom light, bathroom faucet, bathroom amenity shelf, dresser drawer, and lighting switches, and ceiling fan. Great location, beautiful property, great service! Suite was lovely, nice view,quiet , accessible to pool and beach. More nightly entertainment would be ideal. Location is great, 5 min walk to town. Would highly recommend for couples and families 😊

Loved the location, directly on beach. Liked Hemingways, having an onsite dining option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (and drinks, of course!) Also liked that it was walking distance to shops, and taxies were always available onsite to take you further distances. Rooms were very clean and recently renovated.

Small resort with one restaurant. Beach and ocean is amazing, plenty of chairs, umbrellas. Not crowded at pool. Our Jr Ocean View suite was not as pictured on website. Door opened in bedroom. Had to walk through bedroom to hall with bath then to living/kitchenette. Very awkward layout. Very limited ocean view with main view of parking lot. Bathroom extremely small. One small mirror and sink. Not big enough for my husband and I to use at once. Rooms were clean, but no decor on walls/not homey or beachy feeling. No blankets in room or on bed, just sheets. Asked for one every day and got one last day there. No ATM on property. Closest one is at grocery store. Hotel does not take Discover even though welcome book says they do. My husband and I got food poisoning one night from Hemingways (the resort restaurant). Just a few blocks away from the cute little town which has great restaurants and grocery store. Everything very pricey in Turks. Always felt very safe off and on resort. Have been to many all inclusives and resorts in Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican, Bahamas. Overall, for the price I did not feel this was worth the extra money. Paid about double what we would have at other all inclusives.

Great spot with service to be desired.
Great vacation with a few drawbacks. Firstly, the beach is absolutely amazing and the location of The Sands at Grace Bay was perfect for our needs. Definitely not a 5 star environment, but perfect for our needs and would definitely stay there again. The only downside was the service at the bar and restaurant. I'm not expecting high end service here, but eye contact and verbal communication without indifference would be appreciated. When I'm the only one using verbal communication and saying please and thank you to the staff it's pretty poor. On the other hand, all other staff were much more pleasant...beach attendants, front desk, housekeeping etc.

The staff at Hemingways for breakfast and lunch and the cleaning staff are great. The beach water is pretty but there is trash bits in the sand that need to be addressed. The property has a serious lack of beach chairs and all chairs are in average or poor condition. Turks and Caicos is not a good value vacation destination by any measure. It’s easily the most expensive place I’ve ever traveled. Far more expensive than Hawaii or Los Angeles, for example. The drive to and from the airport can be frightening. The airport is not pleasant and quite disorganized. You also pass stray dogs and really sad run down areas while sitting in the worst vehicle you have ever seen in your lifetime on the drive to and from the airport. The taxis can be just appalling. I didn’t rent a car and took several taxis. I felt incredibly nervous with one driver. Literally the most scared I’ve been in my entire life. If this resort wants to succeed they really need to get a driver with a vehicle that belongs on the road for when people are transporting luggage and passports and cash. It’s very, very upsetting to feel like your taxi is not gonna make it to the airport.

As for the taxis, we are sorry to learn you had a negative experience and will share this with the Taxi Drivers Association. Kindly note Turks and Caicos government regulates hotels and resorts to use only official taxis to transport all guests. Some resorts are able to have shuttles services, however these are limited to only provide shuttle to and from one of their sister properties outside a short distance. Several Turk and Caicos non-profit organizations are partnering with government about the feral dogs and cats, and have already begun plans to address this concern in 2024, as well TCI routinely has community service clean ups campaigns sponsored by non-profit organization of which The Sands is a proud to be a part of for years. Not what I expected, a bit out dated They have way too much remodeling going on all at once. The office was relocated due to renovations in a very small work area. Communication to vistores should be a priority, no tour, no heads up on activities and amenities canceled due to remodeling

This is the second time we have stayed here, and we intend to keep coming back! We love the screened balcony for morning coffee and afternoon happy hour. Full kitchen, comfy and large living room, in-room laundry, very comfortable bed -- everything one wants and needs at home but in a resort setting. Hemingway's (on-site restaurant), both food and service, is excellent. Nice fitness area. Thatched palapas on the beach, and when they are all occupied, the friendly and hard-working staff erect a second row of umbrellas and chairs. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. And the beach: the most beautiful beach we have ever been on, with literally miles to walk in both directions. Great dining options within walking distance, and sidewalks to keep one out of traffic. The Sands even lends bicycles, if one prefers!

We have stayed here before and it was always very nice. But this time there was construction and our phone in our room didn't work and the door to the unit was very hard to close. I told the receptionist several times but it was never fixed.
