“Beyond Our Expectations”
My wife and I went to Northwest Point for our honeymoon - 6 nights/7 days - and we were absolutely, 100% satisfied! The resort staff was extremely friendly - "family-like" service with personal attention, but never bothered. The beaches were beautiful with very few people - 15 max (we went in November). We liked that the resort was secluded - a 20 minute drive from the airport and shopping areas - which is exactly what we wanted. We kayaked (complimentary from the resort), walked on the beach, and just enjoyed the island. If we get to go back to TCI we will definitely be staying at Northwest Point again! Crystal clear water, amazing beaches, perfect weather, and awesome restaurants at a short distance - we would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxed, secluded, high-quality environment. Five stars in our book!
“NW Point Seclusion - Lovely!”
We just got back from vacay at the NW Point Resort. We loved being out where it is quiet and private. The location is not terribly convenient, but we did rent a van. It served our needs well. Comfortable, clean, pool, ocean, etc. We would go again. Very helpful staff - even after we arrived very late the first evening. I might suggest that the signage to the place needs a bit of updating or add fluorescent markings as it was very difficult to pick up on at night. Otherwise, very enjoyable stay. Would love to go back again. All in our party of 4 agree with this review.
“Could be a lot better..”
A little disappointing, we weren't met at the airport by the taxi and when we arrived at the resort at the late hour of 8pm we also could not find anyone to let us in, except the security guard who was wondering around. Also, the internet service was not good, unless you want to keep re-setting the server. On the whole the rest of the trip was pleasant enough, but not enough attention to detail I thought, all the people there seem to be pre-occupied with something, rather than the customer.... Also you need a car here as its impossible to get around..
“Great place to get away from reality”
Staff was friendly and helpful.
“We can't wait to go back.”
The hotel was great. The room was nice and the view from are room was greate. The beach was nice, there was no one on it vary quiete just what we where looking for. The restaurant was the only thing that was not all that good. It had a very limited menu and was out of things on the menu sometimes. But all and all we loved the place. You do have to like a place that is very quiet. The staff was very nice and very helpful.
“Pros & cons”
It is nice to be in a very relaxing setting, without the noice and hype. But it is about a bumpy ride for 20 min to the main tourist areas. The staff at NWP is excellent, the Hotel needs some minor repairs, that didn't t bother me. The water has more seaweed & fish, than in other parts of the Island. I though, that I definetly got my moneys worth.
“Get away from it all”
Great hotel to get away from it all. Small, few people, no noise, no traffic, no high rises everywhere, just stretches of deserted beach and peace and quiet. Short drive will take you to the Conch Shack for a rum punch and conch fritters right on the beach. We enjoyed the peaceful atmoshere of the hotel so much we found ourselves cooking in instead of going out.
“Great Remote Hotel”
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to get away. It is right on the beach with a beautiful pool and good restaurant and bar. We were there around Thanksgiving and it was empty. It's far from town though so those looking for a "scene" or nightlife should probably go elsewhere. Those looking for privacy and relaxation in a beautiful setting for a good price should stay at Northwest Point.
“Quiet, simple and great for star-gazing!”
It was a getaway to another world. Far from the huge hotels and all alone in the area. We went on the low season so they upgraded our room to the ocean front! The rooms are apartments with a full size kithcen (fully functional), living room, balcony and a nice bedroom. There weren't many people there so we could walk around anytime of the day, enjoy the swimming pool the hot tub, the hummocks and the quietness of the area. The beach was groommed everyday and kept clean and nice for us to enjoy it night and day. I would recommend it for couples, groups and generally for everyone that goes there to relax and avoid the big resorts. If you want to be served, have everything in reach and the crowds, then it's not for you. If you want a base to use it for relaxing not be bothered and orginise your trips around the island, cook and watch the stars, it's perfect.
“Very relaxing and quiet”
We booked this hotel because we like being away from the populated tourist areas. The Hotel rating was 3.5 stars but I would give it 4. We booked ocean front one bedroom and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom so we had 2 sections of balcony. The breeze was constant and refreshing so we did not feel that we needed A/C in July! Had a little trouble getting sattelite TV to work and staff was very attentive to get the problem fixed. The pool is very clean and the $75 resort credit was nice to use at the bar/grill. One downside, the bar/grill has limited hours (until 5PM), so be sure you call first if you want to be sure someone is there to cook a meal or fix a drink for you. The beach is not as spectacular (some seaweed darkens some of the waters) as the turquoise of the Grace Bay area but each beach on Provo has its own personality and we enjoyed driving to visit as many as we could. The seclusion makes you feel like you have the island to yourself and we enjoyed walking the beach and seeing the stars at nite. You need a rental car since it is about 1/2 hour to the airport and downtown areas. Just remember to drive on the left and you have roundabouts instead of stoplights..can be a little tricky to navigate! We liked the freedom of having our own kitchen and cooking on our own time, but you should try the well known Conch Shack for local fresh seafood. We have been to several other islands in the Caribbean, but feel the waters around Provo are the most beautiful we have seen.
