Would recommend if you're planning to experience Tulum Playa. We stayed 3 nights in room 22 beachside and it was surrounded by lush green and just steps down a small path to the beach. This hotel is a part of The Beach Tulum and is also associated with Ziggy's restaurant. Each morning we had a complimentary breakfast at Ziggy's and was a huge plus to be able to start our day with a beachside breakfast and a quick email catch-up with their complimentary internet. Location is toward the middle of the beach zone and an easy walk up or down the beach to the various restaurants and resorts. Only complaint was from my wife, who wanted hot water instead of the warm water from their showers. Other than that, we'd return in a heartbeat if we come back.
We had two nights at this very nice hotel. Our room was very clean and modern and especially all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it to others and consider returning next summer for a few days
We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Staff were great, Frederico was a superstar at the restaurant! The rooms are spacious, quiet and well appointed for the area. Not the cheapest place to stay but worth the money.

We stayed at the Posada Yum Kin for 5 nights ( 2 adults and my ten year old girl) and had a wonderful time. It's a lovely place, full of beautiful plants and flowers and hammocks right outside your door. The room was large and pretty with lots of Mexican tiles and very comfortable. Had A.C. and a fully equipped kitchen. Stove, sink, fridge, dishes, silverware, pots and pans etc. There was a lovely pool and the morning breakfast was much better than I had assumed it would be. Not just bread and coffee, but yummy eggs and pancakes and fruit, cereal etc.
The staff, Liz and Claudia especially were very helpful and nice, making phone calls for us to book tours, taxi's etc.
This hotel is not right near the beach, so if you want a hotel located right at the beach, this isn't the place, but if you want a lovely hotel near town where you can take a taxi ride to the beach, this is the place!

We had about 12 hours in Cancun due to a 5 am flight. It was an expensive few hours, but well worth it. It was moments front he bus station. The room itself was clean and a good place to regroup before flying home. The hotel staff were extremely helpful helping us choose a place to eat and providing us directions. They arranged a cab for us for 2:30 am, however, it was M$100 more than normal. That part was a bit disturbing.
I very much enjoyed our time at La Flaca- we (me, my mother, and my son) stayed there for a few days and it was exactly what I was looking for. Great food, good drinks, very comfortable atmosphere, etc. The rooms are great, but they're certainly in the really-nice-hostel category, not 5-star-luxury, but honestly, if you're looking for that you'll be in Cancun rather than Tulum. When I return, I won't even think twice about where I'll stay - La Flaca !
Lets start with the awe inspiring entrance and smells of incense in the lobby. The cool wash cloth and cold cucumber and mint water awaiting my husband and I were well recieved after a 90 minute drive from Cancun. The staff were/are AMAZINGLY attentive. Goudy carried our bags while he gave us a tour of the property on the way to our room. The room was in Villa 4 with a partial ocean view. It was clean and very cold.
People have complained about the music at the pool, but it was welcomed for us. They are in transition from a gay resort to a wellness one. The music only plays until 6pm, however, the view from the infinity pool and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was so AMAZING, that it was easy to block out the dance music until a good song came on.
The food was AMAZING. You could eat from the buffet, or order off of rotating menus with a Japanese, Italian, or Mexican theme, or you could do both a buffet and order off the menu. Alcoholic drinks are all included, except if you want a bottle of wine or champagne. The food is so fresh, tastes great, and a total experience you must enjoy everyday. At breakfast I recommend the huevos rancheros and a cappuccino - AMAZING.
In short, beautiful grounds with free WiFi in the game room, spectacular view of the Carribean Sea, and close proximity to the Coba and Tulum ruins. Public beach access is just down the road. And there is a huge sense of security, because the police are posted outside the front gates.
