“great hotel, great staff and great views”

we had a very enjoyable short break at the Gold Coast Hotel. the room was spotlessly clean and even though we had put the 'do not disturb sign' on the door, we were impressed that housekeeping phoned us in the afternoon to ask if we would like our room cleaned. it was a little further from the airport than we originally thought, but the location of the hotel more than made up for it. great size room, huge comfortable bed and a balcony with superb harbour views. we also required a late check out, and this was sorted out with ease. the hotel has a shuttle bus to go shopping to the nearby city. this was an excellent service and very reasonably priced.

“Gold Coast Hotel from a Hong Kong First Timer!”

First time in Hong Kong and we didn't know what to expect. After about a 35 minute cab ride from the airport (about $200 HK Dollars=about $30 US Dollars. Take a cab from the airport, the hotel shuttle from the airport will cost you about $10 per person more!), we were pleasently surprized at the atmosphere the Gold Coast Hotel provided for us. Great looking hotel. Spacious and clean rooms. Powerful shower. Great balcony views. Conveniently located to a neaby mall (within walking distance) with pleanty of places to eat, even a McDonalds for the little ones that are hard to please for lunch/dinner. If you looking for nightlife, shopping, and the downtown hustle and bustle, maybe this hotel isn't for you. Not really close to all that jazz. But if your looking for nice Bay views, decent food, quiet night walks, and a lovely high class hotel atmosphere, I highly recommend this hotel.

“great stay”

we had a night over in HK on the way to Vietnam. we usually stay in Kowloon but decided to stay a bit closer to the airport. The hotel was very good value and awesome large rooms. Massive breakfast buffett, sweet pool and beside the beacjh which was surprisingly clean. we spent the morning in the pool then off to the airport. Could have stayed longer easily!

“Great Value for An Upscale Experience”

We chose the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel because of previous high ratings and affordability. Being a larger family, we needed two rooms for our overnight stay in Hong Kong before flying out after our adoption trip in China. We saved hundreds of dollars by choosing this hotel over others closer to the airport. The service was unbelievably friendly and efficient. The same person who checked us in was able to exchange our money for HK dollars, schedule our wake up call, and arrange for our taxi the following morning to the airport. The staff was fluent in English was made the stay more comfortable. When we called for luggage pick up, the staff was there quickly, while the taxi driver was waiting for us already. Amazingly efficient. The hotel is listed as just over 5 miles from the airport, but a 30 minute drive. It is definitely further than a 5 mile drive; however, it was a beautiful drive along the bay, and we were thrilled with the views we saw on our morning drive. The views from the hotel window were beautiful, and the hotel itself was peaceful, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of other hotels we stayed at in our travels. We have four children, ages 4, 6, 7 and 9 with us. They LOVED the glass elevators and the sights to see in the lobby. We felt our children were welcome. If we ever return to Hong Kong, we will certainly choose the Gold Coast Hotel, and we plan to recommend it to other adoptive families who want a nice hotel at a more affordable price.

“Overall experience of stay”

We liked the surrounds and being out of the business of Hong Kong city. The only complaint/suggestion is that the hotel did not provide a cheaper dining option for dinner and lunch....a lot of people like to stay within the hotel for dining but not have to pay a small fortune for every meal. A deli/cafe would be great. Coffee should be offered at cheaper price for guests.

“Gold star accommodation.”

The hotel is very luxurious and everyone is pleasant and courteous. There is an abundance of food, although I think the price of the evening buffet, even with a discount is somewhat extortunate!
