The Omni Tucson National Golf Course is one of Golf Digest's "75 Best Golf Resorts in North America" and a Conde' Nast Silver award winner. This magnificent destination retreat boasts two distinctly different 18 hole championship golf courses and is the host course for the PGA Tour's Chrysler Classic of Tucson and the Southern Arizona Open. Its traditional-style fairways cap a bluff overlooking the Santa Catalina Mountains. A desert-style target course designed by Tom Lehman offers a combination of native desert vegetation with strategic fairway bunkering. Players can approach each hole in a variety of ways, keeping the course challenging and unique with each new round.
The 4,500-square-foot fitness center contains free weights and a half-dozen cardio machines. Classes such as stretch, yoga, power walking, and Tai Chi and personal trainers are also available for a fee. A children's putting green is located adjacent to the golf course, and a lighted sports complex offers tennis, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, badminton, and horseshoes (free). Two outdoor heated pools are open year-round; one pool has a few lanes for lap swimming.
Desert adventures include mountain biking, hiking trips, desert four-wheel drive rides, horseback riding, group cattle drives, and hot-air balloon rides. Within driving distance of the resort are Saguaro National Park (8 mi), Sabino Canyon (10 mi), and Mount Lemmon ski resort (60 mi).
