Friendly service, excellent food, nice resort. Only thing not according to rules is sunloungers being reserved before breakfast, but there were enough elsewhere to go round. Rooms are seperate from hotel divided by avenues of olive trees, sage and rosemary shrubs.
The hotel is a fair distance from Split airport. However, it was worth the distance as I felt it gave me a real insight to Croatian lifestyle. The location of the hotel is by the seafront and we made the most of both the beach (and its cafes and bars) as well as the swimming pool. The breakfast service was excellent and staff were pleasant and accommodating. Our room was clean with a powerful shower (best thing after the heat of the day) and everything functioned as described in the hotel description. Overall an excellent experience and a brilliant holiday.
We stayed for 5 days/nights and loved the hotel. Very modern, clean, and helpful staff. The only thing that would have made our stay better is if there had been wireless in the rooms (the only wireless available was in the common areas of the hotel). Other than that, a wonderful stay!
"Great location and hotel staff very helpful and fr"
We had 8 nights in this hotel and we were very pleased with our choice of hotel and resort. We used public transport to get to Makarska which was cheap about £9 pp each way. This included shuttle bus from airport to Split and bus from Split to Makarska. This gave us the opportunity to spend a few hours looking around Split on our way home. We used the left luggage facility at the bus station while we did this. Makarska is a lovely resort for wandering, having an old town with a very quaint square and the harbour area which is always busy and interesting. We did the island trip on the Jardan which was a real family party boat and a great opportunity to see a bit of Hvar and Brac. This trip is very popular so it is a good idea to book up when you arrive. We did a lot of walking along lovely coastal paths in one direction as far as Brela and to Tucepi in the other direction. lots to see along the way and plenty of opportunity to have a dip in the beautiful sea. There are very few English speaking tourists around but the staff in the hotel and restaurants all speak good English. We ate in different restaurants every night and enjoyed all our meals. One of our favourites was restaurant Bura at the harbour.
Comfortable, airy, clean room with great views. Restaurants within a reasonable walk along the beach. One of the best breakfast buffets we've seen outside of a Vegas casino. We later stated at another "luxury" hotel in Zadar for the same price. The Bluesun wins in every regard as the best place to stay.
