Good location close to railway station and easy walk to town centre and historic area. Good breakfast and friendly staff Air conditioning not “in season “(late May??) so needed to have balcony door open and the street noise is loud and starts very early!

Good location
We had an enjoyable stay. Excellent staff & great service. Be aware that the airconditioning is controlled by management & is not always on when you need it. The WIFI is also very intermittent

Convenient for station.
Arrived late and very disappointed that we had fridge, hob but no equipment.Discovered next day that you had to pay by the day for that.We planned to use Bari as a centre for train trips out and this worked very well. It was about 15 minutes walk to the old town.

Sounded good but..,,...
We arrived at the hotel with high expectations, found our room after noticing water damaged walls on the stairwell, at the room there was more water damage on the walls and there was mold in the shower. Went to have a glass of wine on the balcony but that overlooked a filthy area with dirt, debris and garbage. Went inside for the wine and watched the news, AC wasn't working well and they have no international channels

Close to the station in Bari
We arrived off the boat from Greece early and the hotel was helpful about storing our bags until check in; which was 1.00pm. The female member of staff spoke excellent English. The room was fine, clean. Breakfast OK. my only problem was not being able to charge devices as my adapter did not work in the kind of plugs they had in Italian hotels.

Good location for stopover.
Not far from station, average room but w/o didn't work however the very helpful girl on reception offered us a fan and also got us some extra pillows. The man on recept was also very helpful. So staff good and room ok for a night or two.

A safe port in a storm
We were quite late checking in as disembark iing from the ferry took much longer than expected. They were expecting us when we arrived at the hotel and were very friendly and efficient, helping us locate somewhere to have a late supper.

Room was good. Had one good and one bad receptionist depending on time of day. Bathroom's shower was really bad but bedroom was just fine. The place is not a few mins walk to restaurants & local grocery stores. Definitely go eat at Giampa!

In the heart of Bari Centrale!
Staff extremely helpful and warm. Great Hotel, in the heart of the city, with lots to see close by. Staff organised an early breakfast just for us because we early morning train to catch. Very much appreciated.

3 day break
We had 3 days in Bari before we embarked on our 2 month tour of Italy Bari the town was not as charming as Brindisi. However the people were as beautiful, kind and helpful. Our hotel was a little above basic room was large, quiet and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok with great cappuccino lady in kitchen was lovely.

Moderno is modern
The rooms were recently renovated, and included USB outlets in all wall outlets. Comfortable and spacious, but the air conditioning was on from mid afternoon through midnight. When we wanted to stay in the room for a while outside of those times, it did get stuffy.

nice hotel
something weird. the key needs to be inserted into the lights to make them work. it kept coming out on it's own. otherwise this is a great midrange hotel, far better than the Cristal down the street for a few euros more. i stayed almost a week. wifi worked most of the time but cut out a couple of times.

Not good but convenient for the train station.
In the daytime we asked the young staff at the front desk to check the timetable of train for us but he did not do that. At night no hot water for shower so asked the old staff to help but he could not speak English at all. I saw lots of dust on the table in the room.

Overnighter
Stayed overnight between train journeys. Easy to find, close to train station. Neighbourhood looked a bit dicey, but no problems. Handy to walk about 'old town area'. Rooms comfortable, bit bigger than usual in Italy, no problems. Breakfast adequate enough.

Very nice hotel near railway station.
This hotel is near the train station. It is in an older building with large airy rooms, but has been modernized. Very comfortable beds and a decent breakfast. Very helpful personnel. When we arrived late in the evening they were very helpful in finding us a place still open to have a late pizza. There is a garage a block away with special rates for hotel guests.

One of the best hotels in Bari
Fantastic place, very friendly and helpful staff.The apartment on the top floor is wonderful,clean and big with a nice view. The breakfast provided was very delicious and one can choose from different choices of food and beverages. Thank you for the wonderful this place to stay in Bari.

Would stay there again.
The hotel was perfect: very clean; helpful staff with great restaurant suggestions and good location right near the railway station. It's not fancy, but the linens on the bed were nice and the room is very comfortable. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and I would stay there again.

Nice place and breakfast, convenient to train, center of city, and historical district. However, room was not, Ac not left on during day, never cooled down well at night no matter how you set it,, and windows were shuttered for no breeze.

Very enjoyable stay, staff very accomodating to your needs and very helpful, breakfast very basic and did not appear to be fresh daily, breads etc and seemed to be reduced dependent on the number of guests, but overall good

previous reviews undersell this hotel. The hotel is very clean, has undergone a recent refurb, is ideal location for someone who wants to see Puglia using public transport/ train. 5 mins from station 15 mins walk from old town, 15 mins walk from promenade with a small beach. Plenty of restaurants around .Room was large with balcony, en suite, breakfast was fine; juice, cold meats, cereal, fruit, yoghourt, coffee, cakes.Cost of room was reasonable, receptionists spoke good english

The Moderno is a short, few blocks' walk from the train station, which made it ideal for our quick stopover in Bari. Rooms are sparsely furnished and have uncarpeted, linoleum-type floors, but are clean and comfortable. Service and check-in was pleasant and professional.

Over night stay
Chose hotel because it was close to the railway station and I had an early train. Room was basic but clean and tidy. No tea/coffee facilities which would have been good. Staff were pleasant and helpful with all my inquiries. Arrived early before room was ready but was able to leave luggage and go of exploring the old part of town which was fun.

Excellent location that is minutes away from the nearby train station and old city, lots of shops in the vicinity. Friendly staff, reliable internet connection, very clean rooms with high ceiling & fare size beds, I wish mattress was a bit more comfortable though (an issue if you have lower back pain), easy to check-in & check-out with no hassle at all, taxi easily arranged by hotel staff. Do not expect to hang-around inside the hotel as there is no bar/resto... but lots of options around it if you are willing to walk 10-15 minutes.
