Dishonest reception staff
We had our car moved & damaged by hotel staff whom then claimed we had done it . They polished it up & when asked why they would do that , all we got was an arrogant shoulder shrug. Not very respectful & spoilt our stay. Never experienced mandatory pool cap to swim? Some people had more hair on their bodies than head?

The people that work there were very nice. Outside the hotel was nice, the restaurant waitress was very nice and the prices were fair. The hotel needs a lot of keep up , very dated , it’s really a 2 start hotel.breakfast wasn’t that great.

We’ve stayed there just one night and that was fine. The hotel is located across the street from the sea so we would not make it our extended stay vacation place. The overall state of the room felt a bit dated.

The staff were great. I had a small accident where a car hit my hire car while parked and drove off. The staff at reception gave me a lot of time helping to sort out the problem by making calls for me etc.

Our dogs hotel of choice
We like Hotel Salsello a lot. It is a dated building with a quirky charm, but the location is great and they are really dog friendly, it is our dogs favourite hotle.

Will stay again.
This hotel was perfect for a stay by the beach. The beach was a 2minute drive from the hotel. The hotel itself is a 70s style decorated hotel, it definitely is luxurious. It is clean and the hotel itself looks like a 4star, and the dinning area is beautiful. The rooms their self are fine, there is nothing wrong with them. They are big for two people, but they are basic more like a 3 star for the rooms. Overall I was please tl surprised how nice this hotel looked. And I would definitely stay again. Only thing missing from the breakfast was hot eggs, they had boiled cold water ggs only. However the rest of breakfast was good too.

Ok hotel not 4 stars, more like 3 star. Needs refurbishment but room had great balcony overlooking the sea. Beach access is not free 10 euros per bed which is a shame for hotel guests. Good breakfast

We spent there three night in an hotel that was supposed to be 4 stars but it is not of that quality. Maybe it was in the past, but the condition of all facilities are not of 4 stars level

Value and comfort
Good value and comfort hotel. Breakfast fair. Room pleasant with views of the sea. This was February so must be great in the summer. A pitty that the bar closed at 10.15. Would recommend this hotel for a night's stay as we did or longer. Staff polite and friendly with just enough English to help us through.

No food is good food!
The hotel was just ok, a little rundown an if they call a picture of a boat nautical theme I gess it was. The breakfast was from 2 days ago and the dinner left something to be desired. The pasta was good but the lobster tail meat was the size of a 30 count shrimp and the almond crusted fish was over cooked. Plus there was a sharing charge.

There is no regard for customers request i.e. room choice .We change the room 3 times due to noise level tv not working and ants infestation.At breakfast there are not fresh fruit and to get hot water for tea we had to cross the road to the bar.The rooms need a good paint as well as the carpets in the corridors replacement ,could be a 2 stars not 4.

Hotel: Functional and old fashioned. Rooms OK. Be ware of worn carpets on stairs. Swimming pool is small but OK. Breakfast very unhealthy but great coffee. Restaurant (reasonable to expensive) with good food and variety. Staff: All staff (with the exception of restaurant staff) desperately in need of charm schooling. Some were very rude as if customers were nuisance to them; many times we witnessed verbal aggression. Greetings of customers (including other people) was extremely rare. Private Beech: Be ware of this con! It will add €10 per person, per day, to your bill!!! We never ever had to pay to sit on a private beech anywhere in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The hotel pride itself on having this facility and tell customers to just step outside the hotel and relax! If you want to do so you have to pay for it!! The town: Great with really nice atmosphere and good facilities The area: again great. We hired a car but bus and train services are good. Lots to see - along the shores or inland. Puglia is really beautiful!

Poor hotel..
The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. They offers the same products for the breakfast on every each days. The ham and cheese at breakfast are awful and cheap. Long walk to anywhere else to eat. Hotel very old and not modern. Bed is not very comfortable. The balcony only holds one chair. TV did’t work. The location is a bit far out of the town, 20-30 minutes walk, so we had to take taxi which was very expensive.

If you want stay inside an oven choose this hotel
We stayed 4 nights,when we arrived the room was without air conditioner and we request a room change they informed that all the rooms weere without air because they could not repair because that day was sunday but they did not repair it on monday either.

Well located hotel at very reasonable cost
We paid attention to the prior reviews and took a chance on this hotel. We agree that it needs some upgrading (but reviewers should be aware that a 4 star rating is based on amenities and not on things like age of building, decorating, friendliness of staff, or cleanliness--it's a matter of technical categories), but we found it one of the best hotel values we had in 10 days of travel in Puglia. For the price, we found this a great deal with reasonably attentive staff, a fine breakfast buffet, and great access to beach and towns.

Dated but charming hotel, very average service
The location is outstanding - easy in and easy out - so one can (with a car) reach Bisceglie or Trani quite easily. The breakfast was sufficient and in fact the coffee was quite good, for hotel coffee. The hotel is dated, it's very much the style and feel of an Italian hotel of a few decades ago, but this gives it a certain amount of charm. The beds were a bit rough, and most annoyingly the hotel turns off the air conditioning during the night, so one wakes up quite hot and uncomfortable, particularly in the summer. The service is average at best - one of our group has a severe walking disability and parking close to the door was more of a challenge than it needed to be (with little help from anyone working at Hotel Salsello) and the hotel would only recommend their own restaurant for food in the area.

Convenient Hotel to historical Puglia sights.
Visited with family members in Bisceglie and stayed in Hotel Salsello. The hotel staff is friendly and check in through On-line reservations was seamless. Check out was seamless also. Did not use the restaurant or the bar facilities. Hotel hosts wedding receptions and other large gatherings and parking is limited but not unreasonable. Gate closes after 2300 and call button must be used on gate to gain access. Early morning fisherman are out on the close-in waters and occasional conversations will be heard. Early risers who don't mind voices from the sea.

Perfect place for families and romance
The people at Salsello were so kind and friendly. Giorgio makes the perfect espresso with a broad smile and always a funny story to tell. The management makes you feel as though you are part of their big Italian family. People have worked there for decades and are so professional in their care for all the guests. My boyfriend and I had an amazing evening on their Lido which is on the beach across the street from the hotel. An amazing starry lit evening dancing with cocktails. I wish the holiday could have gone on forever. Now I know why people keep coming back to this hotel and why the staff are so committed. Bisceglie has me under it's spell just like a local. I found the staff (reception and servers) to be amazing nice (except for the actual owner)! .. They were there to assist and help with any question. I find the location to be great, because it is right across the street from the beach. However, the hotel needs some serious updating. It seems as though the hotel was decorated/built in the 1970's and has not changed since then. Even the water pipes needs to be changed, there was an horrendous odor that emanated from the sink that I had to keep the air vent out 24 hrs. The beach had the same name as the Hotel, so it was very misleading because one would think you dont have to pay to go onto the beach right across the street, but instead you had to pay an entrance fee.

Yes, we swam in the Adriatic
It's a 4-star hotel in every way. The staff was very formal and efficient in everything they did, from checking us in to serving us breakfast. The breakfast was a sumptuous feast of pastries, yogurt, fresh croissants, meats and cheese. There was one slip up when the head manager scolded the night manager for giving us a beautiful room with a balcony when we only paid Expedia rates. He must have assumed we didn't understand Italian. However we enjoyed long walks on the beach, strolls through the most authentic old town citta vechia, talking to fishermen on the shore, and an overall ambiance of peaceful delight. After three nights we walked to the train station to head to Bari for a Mediterranean cruise.

Coastal location but no sandy beach!
We stayed at the Salsello for 2 night as part of a touring holiday in Puglia/Basilicata in May 2013. It's right on the seafront and has very good facilities as a 4 star hotel. Excellent breakfasts and lunch were enjoyed, Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Very hard bed and tiny balcony for one chair were only down sides, otherwise we had good v for m,having booked through Expedia for best price.. Good swimming pool but short on sunbeds, They have Salsello Lido opposite, which has typical sunshades (umbrella style but made of wood or similar) and sunbeds (fees payable even though you are a hotel guest!) but you are on decking with a rocky sea to enter, though nice clear water. We used nearby public beach but is stony, steep slope into sea and rocks on sea bed. (Some prefer sand). Always look on google Street view beforehand! Don't miss nearby Trani,which is a lovely interesting town in our view.

Lovely relaxing holiday
We had a great time in this hotel. It is right on the coast with brilliant views and a cycle path that goes on to Trani and other beautiful coastal villages. The private beach was very small but right in front on the hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they were always willing to help. Breakfast was really good too - there was fruit, toast, boiled eggs, croissants, cheese, meat and yogurts. The room was nice and clean.

Staff were a bit matter of fact, wouldn't call it a warm welcome. The building is was probably built in the eighties and the interior decorating matches that sense. But the view of the sea from our small balcony was nice and the place was very clean. The minibar was a bit pricey, it's Bisceglie not Venice!

Pleasant stay, good food.
All in all our stay at the hotel was pleasant however we think some renovations are necessary to the room and technical upgrades as well to accommodate foreigners who want to enjoy some TV entertainment and make use of wireless internet inside their room.

Great beach spot!
This hotel was across from the beach which was awesome and convenient. I didn't like that it was 60 Euro to get here from the hotel. I realize I could have spent about 10 but I didnt know my way around the area for a few days. I would def look up the bus/train schedule if you have the time. Call or email this hotel and they will tell you the details of the Cheapest route (I obviously didn't). The hotel was kind of small all together. Maybe I just wasn't used to it but the showers were toooo small. Wifi is available downstairs only and you must request it by the hour. I actually hear that most places charge so that was nice. Staff was just AMAZING and pretty much made the hotel experience much better from the hospitality. Some even obviously struggled with english but were so eager to learn and FRIENDLY!

there was something strange about the energy of the room we stayed in. the hotel itself wasn't bad, but the room lacked a homie feel. the breakfast was good. tv didnt work.
