Worst hotel experience ever

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: The breakfast area on the terrace
Cons: Customer service. Also they should not accept reservation when kids are too old to sleep with their parents.
Even though we made a booking for 4 people, the hotel gave us a triple room without an additional bed. When I complained at the reception that our daughter was too old (and big) to be sleeping in the bed with me and my wife, the woman at the reception insisted that it was my mistake when I made the reservation and there was nothing she would do about it. Laughing at us, she kept saying that I accepted the triple room and now I had to deal with it. Even though on the Expedia page they offer "Rollaway/extra beds available", she refused to give me one, not even a mattress to put on the floor. I also have to point out that the hotel was practically empty, there were at most 5 or 6 customers, there could have been a way to accomodate us somehow. I had never experienced such awful customer service. On top of this, the hotel does not have a pool, which is listed as one of the amenities. Rooms are tiny, furnished in the 70s and never updated, no fridge, and not even the "complimentary bottle of water" they say they offer. Other than the Best Western logo you see at the entrance, there is nothing that makes you feel you are in a Best Western hotel.

Merely adequate hotel, further from airport.

Average. Wish that receptionists had shown more interest and charm. They could do with a course on customer service. Expensive for what it was.

Good airport hotel

Posted 30-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
Room basic and clean. A couple of things not made clear in the information - 1. the seasonal pool (appears to be only open 3 months of the year) is not at the hotel but is next to the sea, about 3 blocks away.- 2. Lovely situated dining room on the top floor but it is closed Sundays. Also the wi-fi was not accessible in our room, we had to open the door to the corridor to use it. However, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A good airport hotel.

This hotel is right next to the Bari Airport and is the perfect place to spend the night before an early flight. Basic and clean: exactly what I needed!

Posted 17-May-2013
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Poor bar, no postage stamps and rather poor breakfast
Location: Too far out of Bari City
Excellent hotel with friendly and mostly helpful staff. A bit far out of the city of Bari, but the quality of hotel was very good.

Front Desk staff are very helpful and speak English better than I speak Italian. Room was clean and good size. Adequate size bathroom with expected amenities. We were here only the night before flying out of Bari and thus did not get to use any of the other hotel amenities such as breakfast or dinner in the top floor restaurant with terrific views. Will look forward to it next time.

Bari- Hotel La Baia Great Western

Posted 20-Sep-2012
Pros: Close to airport, and seashore
Cons: breakfast
Location: In the outskirts of Bari, close to the airport
Staff was very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to assist us. I would return to use this hotel again because of its proximity to the airport. Great restaurant across the street and within walking distance the seashore and more seafood establishments. Breakfast was provided but could use some fresh fruit and egss.
