“Service & location at th Viking”
The excellent staff and location are the real attractions of the hotel. The person who checked us in doubled as a tour guide and gave us some brilliant tips for Tromso. We did not spend much time in the room as we were out and about, but it was kept very clean and it was really comfortable. As previously mentioned the location was ideal for visiting all of Tromso's attractions. The breakfast room was quite cosy, but even so we never had any trouble getting a table and the free coffee all day was a fine touch. If we return to Tromso we will definately consider staying at the Viking again.
“Cosy, centrally located and fantastic staff”
Great cosy little hotel close to the centre of everything. Staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are smallish but have everything you need, including great modern bathrooms with heated floors and a flatscreen tv. Bar prices are reasonable and breakfast has enough variety to keep you going. Free tea and coffee all day - nice touch!
“Viking Hotel, Tromso”
The hotel was in a convenient location. Many excursions we booked picked up from this hotel. Only about 10mins walk to the tourist office, Polaria and polar museum. The service was friendly. The room however was fairly small - which was ok for us as we spent most of it outside for excursions etc. Bathroom is small but pretty cool with a heated floor and hot water! Breakfast was pretty meager for a vegetarian - juice and toast was the way to go! Overall a standard 3 star hotel with standard service. Use this hotel if its just a base for you as it is one of the cheapest ones in Tromso.
“Small and uncomfortable bed”
The hotel room, bathroom, and the bed were all very small and tight. The bed, in particular, had a very thin mattress, as a result the bed was not very comfortable. This hotel was rated 3 stars but I wonder how it got that ratings? The hotel was reasonable clean and the staff was friendly.
“It was quite expensive with respect to the service.”
Probably I was in Tromsø in the day (June 21st, Summer solstice) when hotels are fully booked and henceforth particularly expensive. I do not have too much to complain about the hotel itself, except perhaps that room's curtains should have been darker, but I found the price very high with respect to the services offered.

Fantastic night staff. Brekfast was good. Overall service was quiet good and helpful. Location was fine. Room was way too small and bed was not a double as booked... it was a king single so BEWARE couples! Walls were extremely thin... if you get a room on the street side move as snow clearers start ad god early timesin the morning and WILL sound very loud and students yahoo through the streets from 4am to 6am some mornings. 5/10
“Das Viking Hotell in Tromsö liegt im Stadtzentrum.”
In meinem Zimmer war der Fernseher und eine Lampe kaputt. Ich habe mich gleich am ersten Tag darüber beschwert. Das Hotelpersonal reagierte auch freundlich und kam es sich gleich ansehen, konnte es aber nicht reparieren, worauf ich mich am folgenden Tag nochmal beschwerte. Ein anderes Zimmer konnte ich aber nicht bekommen, weil das Hotel ausgebucht war. Eine Entschädigung gab es aber nicht, auch als ich äußerte, dass ich es als unfair empfinde, dafür den vollen Preis zahlen zu müssen. Ansonsten war das Hotel für die kurze Zeit okay. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, aber sauber. Beim Frühstücksbuffet gab es nicht viel Auswahl, aber es war ausreichend.

Vorsicht, die Bilder vom Hotel spiegeln nicht die richtige Größe wieder. Zimmer sehr klein. Kein Schrank, Ablage für Kleidung nur auf dem Schreibtisch. Ordentliches aber kleines Bad. Früstück von 07 - 09. Oft so voll,dass wir teilweise im Stehen frühstücken mussten. Frühstücksware ist allerdings o. k.. Die Servicekräfte sind unfähig, geputzt wird schlecht. (in 6 Tagen wurde der Spiegel im Bad nicht geputzt.) Selbst war die Frau / der Mann.
“Viking hotel als uitvalsbasis voor de Aurora Borealis.”
Hotel met goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Receptionist was uit de kunst. Gewoon perfect. Ook de samenwerking met bedrijven in en rondom Tromso is goed. Alles voor het toerisme van Tromso. De service alom was zeer goed. Van vervoer tot eten, tot dienstbaarheid.
