“Thon Hotel (Budget Hotel) Tromso, Norway”

This hotel is located in center of Tromso, Norway. The best and cheapest way to get there is by the airport bus 53 NOK. Taxis are about 160 to 175 NOK. The bus stop is just around the block, 5 minute walk. The room is small, very basic, small single bed against the wall, which makes it hard to sleep. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I just needed a cheap place to stay for one night, for a airplane connections. They do offer a upgrade for this hotel across the street. Resturant beside the hotel, and many in the area as well as pubs and stores.

Area recommendations
This area is great, close to the airport 10 minutes, lots of places to eat, drink and shop. Also, it is near the waterfront as well.

“Thon Budget in Tromsø. Kindness, comfort and close to everything”

It is a budget Thon hotel, so the expectations were not set too high. Very kind staff, eager to serve. Speaks well english. The rooms are simple without minibar, but there is a tv, free internet, couch and bed, and the bathroom has soap and shampoo. The complementary breakfast is served in the connecting restaurant with a reasonable selection of cheese, cerials and meat. Very nice, but budget. The location is perfect. Everything in Tromsø is within walking distance, som you can reach most shops and restaurants in 5 minutes. The Polaria is just 10 minutes walk.

Area recommendations
Most hotels are located in the Grønnegata area, and they are all perfectly located for this city where everything is within walking distance (shops/restaurants).
Dining
In West Coast Norway you should always try the fish, and in the northern parts you should try rein deer. Lamb is aldo very good in Norway. During my short stay I had 2 great dining experiences: Skarven - Tried the 3 courses wwhich inluded Halibut in the main course. Emmas drømmekjøkken - TRied their 3 courses menu, had the best lamb ever

“Kommen gerne wieder. Sehr modernes und ansprechendes Hotel.”

Dieses Hotel gehörte zweifelsfrei zu den besten von uns gebuchten Häusern in Norwegen. Sehr ansprechendes Interieur, zentrale Lage in Tromsö. Modern und ansprechend gestaltetes Bad. Zimmer leider nur mit Blick in einen Innenhof.

Traveller's tip
Nach Zimmer mit Blick möglichst nicht in den Innenhof fragen. Sonst sehr empfehlenswert.
