“Excellent Value-trinidadian Hospitality at its best”

The key to a successful hotel is its front desk staff and L'Orchidee has very good people.Well appointed rooms in a quiet but convenient part of Port o Spain. Excellent breakfast which was included in the price of the room. If you like smaller boutique type hotels with excellent service, this hotel is excellent value

“Port of Spain's BEST little hotel”

From the moment I stepped into reception until the time I had to leave I was consistently surrounded with exceptional hospitality. The staff was always helpful and friendly, always taking time to answer my questions about Trinidad and offering valuable suggestions for my travels. They were never wrong! The breakfasts were home cooked - eggs, freshly baked muffins, toasts, jams, juices, cereals, and fruits. The breakfast room had about six tables where everyone could exchange 'good mornings.' Most of the folks staying during my visit were on business but the larger rooms could easily handle families of four. They also have a beautiful patio garden where you can enjoy your second cup of coffee amongst the mango trees and flowers. I'd also recommend this hotel for Carnival as it is only a 5 minute walk to the Queen Savannah Park where most of the activities take place.

Area recommendations
I'd recomment the St Ann area. It's very residental and quiet with several great eateries within walking distance.
Getting there
Suggest American Airlines out of Miami.
Getting around
Kaloos Rental Car has the best prices. But driving in Trinidad is only for the adventuresome - I'm still shaking.
Must see
Pitch Lake, La Brea! Also, Asa Wright Nature Center.
Shopping
Don't miss the wonderful shopping malls - Movietown and Trincity!
Dining
Claude Creole in St Ann - one of the finest meals I've had. Be sure to try a Bake n Shark sandwich at Richard's on Maracas Beach. For a morning snack grab a 'double' with 'slight spice' at any of the islands vendors - look for the ones with the longest lines.
