We chose this hotel as a convenient mid-point between the sights of historic Seville and the airport. It's right in the heart of the Triana district, where the best ceramics are to be found as well as some very decent places to eat and people-watch. It's about a 15-minute walk to the Alcazar and the cathedral, and the buzzier opposite river bank. The room was very comfortable, with free wifi and a pillow menu (as in, what sort of pillow would you like), which impressed us greatly! The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke decent English, which we came to appreciate is something of a rarity in southern Spain. The hotel was quiet and breakfast was a reasonable buffet.
This hotel is located close to the 1992 EXPO grounds. It is quiet and well appointed, if a bit far from the downtown action.Public transportation is available. Please ask reception.
My room wi-fi did not work which forced me to go to the lobby to use my computer. The hotel is busy with weddings and conferences and the sound attenuation nonexistent. So,it is loud and inconvenient for anything more than reading a couple of e-mails,
My room had a nice view of the river.
The Abba Triana hotel is situated in the heart of Seville, in the famed Triana quarter, with a fabulous view to the …More
I only had 2 issues, #1 - hotel has on-site parking, but lot was full & had to park in a lot about 1/2 mile away. No prior warning of that.
#2- It was obvious the person before us was a smoker & our room smelled like cigarettes.
In all fairness, this was a busy time - with the April Faire going on.
The Hotel was I would say a 4 star. Disappointed that pool area was not open until 11 o clock in the morning, which mean't waiting in the room or lobby area (not very good if you have young children) pool area not very clean, floor around pool bar not washed daily. Food in pool area was very good and plenty of sunbeds and shades. Take tea, coffee with you for room as only 2 teabags supplied. Nice location, about 20 min walk into centre.
Good location if you travel by car - free parking and bus stop to downtown within 100m. Many supermarkets in the neighborhood. A little weird to have a breakfast looking at the stadium but it's fun. The breakfast is very good, many choices to choose from. The only con is that when we asked for an iron we got response that their guest iron is currently out of service, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Overall we had a good stay here.
This hotel is in a local neighborhood about 15 minutes walk to the main tourist attractions (or you can take a taxi which are easily located). The hotel isn't a luxury hotel, but it had everything we needed and the service was excellent. We asked for a quiet room and got just that. No view from the window, but very quiet for sleeping. The room we had was adequate size, the bathroom was clean and functional, and there was good, free WiFi. The staff were very helpful, friendly, responsive, and had all the info we needed. The only thing to know is that there isn't a bellhop, so there are a few stairs to negotiate to get your luggage into the hotel. (I imagine the staff would have helped if we asked). The buffet breakfast was great and had a lot of variety. We were very pleased with this hotel and would stay here again.
Across the Guadalquivir from central Seville, Triana once was home to bull fighters, sailors, and Romani. The lively atmosphere persists in the shops and restaurants along Calle Betis. Triana's locally esteemed Iglesia de Santa Ana used to provide higher ground during major floods. Visit in July to experience the Velá Santana festival, a Triana tradition, filled with local specialties.
