I only had 2 issues, #1 - hotel has on-site parking, but lot was full & had to park in a lot about 1/2 mile away. No prior warning of that.
#2- It was obvious the person before us was a smoker & our room smelled like cigarettes.
In all fairness, this was a busy time - with the April Faire going on.
We stayed in Hotel Monte Carmelo for 8 nights. The front desk staff were excellent, always pleasant and helpful. They booked 2 tours for us and assisted us with anything else we needed. Seville is a town where a lot of walking is involved. Wear comfortable shoes! The section of town where the hotel is located is called Los Remedios.
We spent a week in this hotel during our week's holiday in Seville. We had an Executive room on floor three as we wanted a terrace to relax rather than sitting in a room. The views from our terrace were fantastic overlooking the river with views of the spectacular cathedral.
The room itself was large with a super king-size bed, aircon, fridge, coffee/tea-making etc. The bathroom was very clean and of a good size and well equipped. The hotel itself is located in the Triana region and has it's own character and yet is only a 15 minute walk over the bridge to the old town.
The hotel has a very impressive roof terrace with fantastic views, but only tends to be open in the evening. The terrace also hosts a small pool, and I mean small, with only three sun loungers - due to the size. Overall the hotel is excellent and I would certainly use it again.

Good location if you travel by car - free parking and bus stop to downtown within 100m. Many supermarkets in the neighborhood. A little weird to have a breakfast looking at the stadium but it's fun. The breakfast is very good, many choices to choose from. The only con is that when we asked for an iron we got response that their guest iron is currently out of service, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Overall we had a good stay here.
Across the Guadalquivir from central Seville, Triana once was home to bull fighters, sailors, and Romani. The lively atmosphere persists in the shops and restaurants along Calle Betis. Triana's locally esteemed Iglesia de Santa Ana used to provide higher ground during major floods. Visit in July to experience the Velá Santana festival, a Triana tradition, filled with local specialties.
