“Great hotel/airport experience”

Close to airport for my 5:30 AM flight. Shuttle was wonderful and I was able to leave my car at the hotel. Return shuttle was prompt! Appreciated everything!!

“Decent hotel for the price”

This is a decent hotel for the price. The room was clean, the furnishings were in good condition. The staff was pleasant. The continental breakfast was just the basics, bagels, waffles, coffee and juice but it was OK.

“Good place to hang your hat”

This hotel is very convenient to the Tri-Cities Airport, and as it is literally right next to I-81, very accessible to any car travellers. We didn't feel any problem from traffic noise or airplanes passing overhead. The continental breakfast isn't exceptional, but it's certainly very adequate. We felt no need to venture to the neighboring CrackerBarrel for more fat and calories. A major commercial strip is at the next exit south, just 4 miles away, with bountiful choices for dining, shopping, and business. Free wi-fi is very welcome, and when the lobby computer wasn't working, the front desk staff simply let me into their office to print my boarding passes on their computer. Our only quibble was with our "non-smoking" room, which smelled as if the smoking ban might have taken effect just 3-4 days before. The whole floor reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Cranking the air conditioning to high fan for a while made it bearable, but allergic people should steer clear.

Area recommendations

Our destination was actually Jonesborough, which we highly recommend. During major festivals like the National Storytelling Festival, a Kingsport/Tri-Cities Airport motel like this one may be the best deal you can find, even though Jonesborough is a 20+ mile drive. We did find an excellent Japanese restaurant on the commercial strip at Exit 59 (the motel is at Exit 63), and enjoyed reheating our leftovers in the microwave provided at the motel.

“Meh”

Given that it's just off I-81, it's convenient. It is a smoking hotel - be sure to request non-smoking to attempt to avoid it. It was one of the worst nights of sleep I've had in a while...the bed was just dreadful and there was no way to get comfortable on their pillows - two days later & I still have a crick in my neck. Also, I had maybe 2 minutes of hot water for my shower at 8ish in the morning. Definitely would not stay here again.

“Good Hotel Off Interstate”

Bed was comfy and the hotel is a short walk to a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Just off the interstate so convenient for road warriors traveling through. Would have liked the continental breakfast to be available until 10AM instead of 9AM -- there was a rush to get the breakfast in the final hour of the serving window.

“Very impressed.”

Having the impression of 'old, dated' for this hotel chain, I booked anyway, based on the very positive reviews of others and the affordable pricing. We were very pleasantly surprised upon arrival and throughout our stay. The front desk was welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean except for an empty coke bottle someone had tossed behind the recliner - maid should have found that. Comp breakfast was varied and very good and serviced very well.

Area recommendations

Great variety of restaurants on Stone Drive. Enjoyed Bays Mtn Park.

“Staff was so nice!”

I was in Kingsport for a funeral. I got into town after a 7 hour trip and was exhausted! The staff were so welcoming and friendly and my room was very comfortable and clean.

“Smokey”

The smoking floor was on the 2nd floor we were on the 3rd floor which reeked of smoke so we were moved to the 4th floor which was no better! We were intown for my sons funeral. So this did not help with the stress level.
