Didn't realise when we booked that this is mainly used by people on coach tours staying 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast got a bit boring after a couple of days - continental only, but with boiled eggs as extra.
Rooms were clean enough, and have to say the bed was very comfy.
The staff were the best thing - very friendly and helpful, always happy and smiling - they were great.
The walk from the hotel is pretty dangerous, but the view from our balcony made up for that! You have to book a lake view!
Underground parking was a godsend too.
Overall, a decent enough hotel for a short break.

We stayed 2 nights as part of a trip and this hotel worked well for us. The staff have obviously worked hard to make this a great place to stay.
It was quite a way up the hill which required either a car or a good pair of lungs to travel independently. The hotel has a shuttle bus that operates twice a day in each direction (2 down in the morning and 2 up in the early evening) which you book on a first-come first served basis, otherwise it was approx 15€ for a taxi in each direction.
The room, terrace and pool areas had fantastic views over the lake and there was good and secure parking for the car. Breakfast had a good variety of foods.

The grounds were much prettier than described or shown in pictures.
The area surrounding the Hotel is mostly residential and VERY quiet and peaceful.

Perfect setting right on the shores of Lake Como, looking out towards Bellagio. A couple of minutes walk to the shops and restaurants of Tremezzina and a perfect start to our Italian holiday. Our room was a double room with balcony and lake view and we were lucky enough to get the one that has two balconies - morning and afternoon sun to sit and relax in. Breakfast was just as you see in the photos - beautifully presented in a wonderful setting. Huge selection for breakfast and the coffee was great.
Hosts were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
Will definitely return if we get the chance to come back here - a perfect choice!

The hotel is located right on the lake como, a few minutes away from villa carlotta and cadenabbia ( car ferry for bellagio ) , 5 km away from lenno ( villa balbianello ) and menaggio( car ferry to varenna) . You can walk theough the lake , which is not easy at the other villages of como. The hotel has a restaurant on the lake which is great. The rooms are old fashioned, with lake view, no air condition - not necessary in june, but we felt comfortable overall. Breakfast was ok, i recommend this hotel if you wanna stay in a good location with lake view but do not wanna pay so much for a stay.

Lovely hotel glad to get back to it after a long day sight seeing, it wasn't near to the road so it was very peaceful. I do think you need a car as it is a steep walk up from the main road and there is plenty of parking.
We enjoyed our stay here very much we had a corner balcony and a view of the lake which was beautiful, breakfast was good and you was able to get snacks and drinks until 11pm which was very good.
The hotel staff were very helpful.
Would rank this within the top luxury hotels we have visited worldwide. Absolutely beautiful property, wonderful staff, great location, great food, and lots of amenities. The views from the hotel are gorgeous and the property itself is magnificent. The spa was wonderful!
Glamorous villas and hotels abound near Tremezzo, but all pale into insignificance beside the splendid Villa Carlotta. Built between 1690 and 1743 for a wealthy Milanese banker, it was named after its last private owner, a Prussian princess. The extravagant interior is noted for its art, including Canova’s sculpture of Cupid & Psyche. The gardens are best in late spring when the azaleas and rhododendrons are in bloom.
