“Great value - not-so-great breakfast”

The price was right and the room was very clean, modern, comfortable. The continental breakfast was subpar.

“Not impressed”

The light bulbs over the nightstand were burned out, the outlets [TV] were very loose. The pillows lumpy & to small. Bathroom very, very small. The room smelled musty. The worst breakfast-ever!!! On the other hand - very good & friendly customer service.

“excellend accomodations in this price range”

I was very happy with my stay. The room was very clean. The only exception to this statement was that the tub needed some new cauking and slight mildew removal where the edge of the tub met the wall in the bathroom. The rest of the bathroom was spotless as was the room itself. The king size bed was comfortable. The manager of the hotel was very helpful and friendly. For those who have difficulty with stairs, I would suggest a ground floor room since the stairs to the upper level are somewhat steep and could be a challenge to a person who has mobility issues.

“Good Value”

The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was very attractive. We were there mid-week in the fall, so there were plenty of rooms available and little noise from other guests. On the downside, the hotel's sign is ground level, and when coming from downtown area I missed it until I was past the side street that has the only entrance to the hotel. Hotel is on side of street away from the bay, so there is no great scenery to be had.

“Had a great stay for the money”

We were only looking for a place to sleep and have breakfast because we were out of the hotel from 10am and didn't get back till 10pm . For 4 nights and 5 days it was very affordable and we are already planning on coming back again next year. The location was great and the room was very clean and no bed bugs!! We only would like to see more variety of hot food choices for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with info about different parts of the town and pulled out maps to explain options and directions. They even helped us with coupons for some of the places that we visited.

Area recommendations
We visited downtown Traverse City, Old Mission Peninsula to visit all of the winery, drove a circular loop to Sutton Bay - Leland - Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We also went to Elk Rapids. There was a lot of places to visit and things to do. We enjoyed all of the restaurants in town and had great service and foods. The fall colors were very beautiful.

“Return Customers”

This was not the first time we have stayed here and it won't be the last. The motel is clean, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast quite complete and the location is close to or on the way to many area attractions.

Area recommendations
The whole Traverse City area is delightful to visit, especially the wineries and nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

“Good for the money”

I was there for 2 days and had no phone service till the second night. There lines were messed up with old poorly working phones. I complained the night of arrival but didn't get any service till the night before departure. I finally had to ask for a room change to fix the problem of which they were accommodating. Otherwise for the money it was alright.

“Pleasant experience.....”

We were extremely impressed with the motel - especially considering the price. Earlier this summer we stayed in another motel in a southern state, paid twice the price & it was a dump......this motel was very clean - and well cared for. The staff very helpful during our check in. The breakfast offered wasn't anything to write home about - if cereal meets your needs - it's OK - but, who wants to eat cereal when there are so many wonderful restaurants in town??

Area recommendations
Downtown Traverse City has many sites, shops, restaurants to be visited. The shore line is always busy with walkers, bicyclists, picnics, etc. There are many great golf courses in the area. There are many vineyards to visit with taste testing. One could drive and enjoy the sites without ever becoming bored. There are 2 casinos within 20 miles of the motel. If you've never visited Traverse City, you owe it to yourself to experience it!
When to go
Traverse City has something happening 12 months of the year. Golfing, skiing, water activities, hiking, color tours, etc., etc. You can't choose a bad time of year. It is very congested during the Cherry Festival - but is worth it - lots of activities during the week.
Dining
We especially like a restaurant downtown that carries Michigan brewed beers - it has great food. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the place....it is located on a corner in the downtown area. If you find it, you'll like it!

“Everything we needed, nothing we didn't...”

The staff here was as helpful as anyone could want. The location is very handy and bike trip friendly. Rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Solid value (even including Expedia's slice). I'd go back.

Area recommendations
Very cool and lively downtwon and bay front at TC and the motorcyling is AMAZING !
Other
Great spot to anchor for a couple days of riding the northwest lakeshore.
