“Would stay there again”

I chose this hotel mainly because of the quick and easy access to the major highways and the close proximity to the city centre. The hotel is rated as a four star hotel, but that is not quite true in my opinion. The rooms were clean and the staff was quite friendly and helpful in handling any requests we had.They all spoke and understood English very well. We originally booked the hotel without breakfast since we planned to be on the road early every day. Within the first week of our stay there appeared to be a major remodelling taking place and when we asked what was happening, we were told that the hotel had been sold!! We were a bit concerned about that, but the new owners now offered FREE breakfast for everyone who stays there - a pleasant surprise. The hotel is now called "All Seasons". It is VERY modern, has a lovely patio with outdoor swimming pool with grill parties on Thursdays. For us, the best thing was the proximity to the highways - even going to the centre of town was very easy - there is a tram station just 2 minutes away, which gets you to the downtown core within 10 minutes!! In all, it was a lovely stay and we would definintely choose this hotel again for another visit.

Area recommendations
There is little, if anything to see where the hotel is located. However, take the street car (tram) and go downtown, up to the Danube. Take a short trip up to the Postlingberg, an old pilgrim's church, and enjoy the view. Once you come back, take a stroll through downtown, the old town and visit the historical buildings, including Linz castle, and a church built around 800 AD - best bet is to take a printed tour guide to choose the various places - after all, this town is over 1000 years old!!
Getting around
Leave your car (if you have rented one) at the hotel. Driving within and around Linz is definitely a challenge for anyone who does not live there. Even the locals have problems with the numerous one-way streets, which can throw you off completely. Best bet is to take public transportation to go into town - street-car access is close by, very reasonably priced and very clean - also air conditioned! Downtown Linz is 95% pedestrian-oriented - no cars allowed; hence, finding a parking space is almost impossible - again, don't take your car.
Dining
Food selection in the hotel is somewhat limited and also rather expensive. Downtown Linz is a totally different story. Best place to spend your dining Euros would be at the "PROMENADENHOF" near the old town, followed by "JOSEF'S" on the Landstrasse (East side, before the Mozart Kreuzung) and for totally local and typically Austrian fare try the KLOSTERHOF, also on the Landstrasse (West side, after the Mozart Kreuzung). Prices for meals are reasonable and the serving portions rather plentiful. If you are a small eater, ask the waiter if you can have a half portion -most places will do it for you, but you have to ask, as this is not advertised anywhere.

“Not the best hotel, but it's a pretty good option when the budget available is limited.”

The style of the hotel is very unique, very youthful and colourful, which also doesn't make it feel so "homey". It's a good option when having a limited budget. It is clean and offers a satisfactory breakfast. The coffee is what I most enjoyed. The surroundings are industrial, so it's not a very touristy option. I did think it was a good option for such a short stay.

Area recommendations
The downtown area is where most of Tourists' needs are covered: all the history, the art, the architecture, the museums, you name it. I highly recommend the Stiegl Biergarten on Landstrasse 30. Unbelievable food, very friendly service and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Getting around
You can buy a Maxi Card at any automatic ticket machine. It covers all the public transportation in Linz for 24 hours. The tram up to Pöstlingberg is not included.
Must see
Neuer Dom (Cathedral), Pöstlingberg (church at the top of a hill that has a breathtaking view of the entire city), Ars Electronica Center (technology museum).
Dining
Stiegl Biergarten in Landstrasse 30, just a few blocks away from the old town. Unbelievable food, very friendly service and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

“Hidden Jewel”

Eine extreme positive Überraschung!!! Für diesen Preis haben wir ausgezeichnetes Service und Minimal Design mit Farben bekommen. Auch das Frühstück war in Ornung. Ich kann nur mit vollen Herzen weiterempfehlen!

“Durchaus empfehlenswert”

Das Haus ist sehr modern eingerichtet und liegt mit der Straßenbahn ca. 15 min. vom Zenturm entfernt (incl. Weg zur Straßenbahnhaltestelle; ca. 200 m entfernt). Das einchecken verlief rasch und unkompliziert. Die Zimmer sind alle gleich eingerichtet; was man auf der Homepage sieht, entspricht den tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten. Alle Zimmer sind mit Flat-TV ausgestattet. Es gibt genug Abstellfläche. Gleich beim Eingang ist ein offener Schrank in einer Nische eingebaut, was ich als sehr angenehm empfunden haben (kann die miefenden Hotelschränke sonst nicht leiden). Es steht auch ein Ventilator + Safe zur Verfügung. Das Frühstücksbüffett ließ keine Wünsche offen. Da ist sicher für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Es steht um das Hotel auch genug Parkplatz zur Verfügung. Der Pool ist zwar vorhanden, aber doch relativ klein. Wenn man erhitzt von einer Linz Tagestour kommt aber zur Abkühung durchaus ausreichend. Wobei dafür der in der Nähe liegende Pichlinger See (kostenfrei) sicher empfehlenwerter ist. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder dort wohnen; auch länger als 2 Nächte. Sehr, sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältins!
