We only stayed at Dooley's in Waterford for one night and wished we had planned for two. After staying two nights in Dublin we drove to Waterford as a stop on our way to the west part of the country and it was a perfect distance for our first day of driving. The hotel is right on the main street by the water. The hotel bar had good food and the waiter was excellent. The hotel is also close enough to the People's PArk that we were able to go for a run to the Park and have a great workout there. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We come home to Waterford every year but this is the first time using this hotel and location is the best. Its all walking distance to everything. If it wasnt for the Saturday wedding, we would have stayed at the Tower for 4 straight night instead of only 2 nights. We had to book and stay at another Waterford hotel and we were not happy. We will definetely stay at the Tower again.
Caroline at the front desk was very helpful. The only issue is the parking- very tight when there's conventions same time. Other than that, its perfect.
We had just one night at The Anchorage recently. It's an old place, bit run down but everything was clean and the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. It's in a handy spot, right on the waterfront just across from the bus stop (intercity) and across the bridge from the train stn. Just remember to pack the earplugs and you won't be disappointed.
Walked to all main attractions, Waterford Crystal and interesting museums. Theatre right down the street, enjoyed the play, "Crucible". Three course dinner for 2, with a bottle of wine, $65. Free parking! Spacious room for three, upgraded decor.

This is a very pleasant hotel, right on the river, and a short walk to the main sights in downtown. For example, it's about a 5 minute walk to the Viking Tower. The room was bright, nicely appointed and in good condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bar and dining room on site. Parking is secure and free. All up, a good location.
I recently toured Ireland with a group of three other motorcycle riders. we visited all Travelodges in southern Ireland with the exception of Dublin.
Waterford provided clean comfortable accommodation supported by friendly staff, and adequate parking. I would have no hesitation returning
