A really nice "business" hotel. The staff were friendly and gave us a twin room on the top floor for the price of a double. What a fantastic view. The hotel is near to the station, trams and buses and a short walk from the castle
This was our first visit to Toyama, we choose the hotel as it appeared central to the city. The hotel is situated approximately 1 Km from the station and taxis are available from the station to the hotel and there were always two or three taxis waiting outside the hotel. There is not much English spoken so you need to be able to speak some basic Japanese for getting around and ordering food in restaurants, saying that the reception staff did speak a little English.
The hotel buffet restaurant situated just off the lobby is very good, with a good selection of Japanese and European food at both breakfast and lunch times, we did not use the restaurant at night as there is a good selection of eateries within walking distance of the hotel.
Staff was very courteous, speaking English nicely. Check in was very good. We took a taxi from the station, but the Tram would have sufficed with our luggage. The cost of the Tram is only $2.00 US. Hotel is located on the South Exit about two blocks from the station.
This hotel was located on the tram line, which cost 200 Yen. That was a nice convenience. Hotel is centrally located near shopping areas, the castle is within walking distance. The town surrounding this hotel is very nice and clean.
We have only one night stay at the hotel but it's an excellent hotel in every sense. Must be the cheapest hotel I have ever stay in Japan. But the size is good for two. Service good. Location convenient, right across the train station, many restaurants just all around the hotel. Really the best value for money for a hotel room in all my stay in Japan so far!
