Enjoyed a fabulous night at this 18th century Coaching Inn. The room was spotlessly clean, very traditional in its theme and the welcome and service was second to none. If you are looking for something special at a very affordable price in a beautiful quiet village, I can highly recommend this place. I don't very often go back to the same hotel, always like to try something different, but this place I would certainly return to.
The worst bit was getting there using a satnav that selected the narrowest byways to the Watermans Arms. It turned out there were much easier routes!
The hotel was welcoming, did great food and drinks and the service was always very friendly and quick. The location is beautiful, next to a babbling brook with ducks and fish and just up the lane the river opened out to the tidal stretch, complete with stepping stones to get to the far side for walks in the woods.

A quintessential 17th Century Inn set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, at the bottom of a steep valley next to Bow …More
The setting was perfect, particularly with the superb grounds around the hotel which made for wonderful walking at all times of day.
We thoroughly enjoyed an evening at the Barn Cinema - with a live production transmission.
The food at breakfast and for the evening meal in the restaurant were excellent. The cafe was not as good.
The room was clean, well located and had all amenities to a good standard.
The Dartington Hall shops also had some very good produce and gifts.
We were met at the station after a overnight flight and train ride and welcomed with tea and biscuits. It just got better and better.
Our Ross Room was large, bright and comfortable. Sheep on the hill in the backyard and the town at the the front gate.
Breakfasts were made to order and could be anything you wanted. (Fresh eggs from her own chickens). My husband mentioned a special kind of yogurt and there it was the next morning.
Marilyn, the owner, is what made our stay special. She has a easy grace and makes everyone feel comfortable and interesting.
We were in town for a wedding and our stay here is what made this trip!
This part of England is strikingly beautiful. Visit, if you get a chance.
