“Front desk great, Rooms Okay, Night Bartender AWFUL”

So the front desk is a 10 on a scale of 1-5 The bathrooms in the rooms needed quite a bit of love which was surprising for a nice hotel. The night bartender is the nastiest most unfriendly woman I have ever met. I started walking to the sports bar than to tolerate her.

“Does the job”

If you want a roof over your head then this is the place for you. Overall I liked the hotel. I'm a clean freak and the room was clean so I was happy with that. Couple of issues with the service...if you call room service it just rings and rings so sometimes you have to call a couple times to get someone. When you do they usually tell you that room service will call back so instead of being able to relax, call someone, or shower you have to wait for a call back from room service to place an order. Annoying. Good thing is they usually call back fairly quickly but having to deal with that in the first place irritated me. Also, the breakfast alternated from being in the basement and the first floor. You didn't know where it was until you went to one place and found out you either guessed right or had to go to another level. Minor irritation. Good things...free wifi, free breakfast and decent room service.

Area recommendations
This area is NOT near downtown Toronto which is more interesting. I would only stay hear if I needed to be close to the airport.
Must see
Casa Loma (a castle) was a cool tour as was the Royal Ontario Museum.
Dining
Lots of good Pho restaurants in Chinatown.

“Would not go Back!”

Did not realize the hotel is at the end of the runway. Planes literally are only feet above the hotel while taking off. The maid woke me up at 0730 to clean the room. Could not find anyone at the front desk to help me but could hear staff chatting and laughing in the back. Would not return.

A basic hotel near airport. A few resturants to walk to for dinner. Could use a bit of sound proofing with space under the door.

“"1am False Alarm no comp"”

It was a good location, the hotel was clean, the environment was somewhat friendly but the help was helpless. At 1am on the first night there an alarm went off it kept going off for an hour. Called front desk and they brushed me off. Asked front desk if I could get some sort of compensation for having my family woken up at 1am until 2am and I was brushed off. While waiting in the hall to have the door open a gang of "people" ran behind me and pulled off each others pants. It might have been funny if I was a teenager and wasted like they were. When checking out I was told that the fire alarm was set off by someone smoking in a non smoking area. Still got no comp. Both problems weren't directly the hotel's fault I understand that but some sort of compensation would have been nice as the next day we were all over tired and our vacation was kinda ruined. Thanks expedia for the cheap hotel room but I doubt I'll be going back there again...

Downtown Toronto. It's a few dollars more but worth it.

“Wendell MacKenzie”

The only "knock" I'd give it is the noise from the planes coming/going most of the night. The approach path and take-offs go just about over the hotel. Makes it hard to get to sleep.

“Pleasant, but nothing overly special”

The hotel was clean with the exception of a coffee maker that had been missed by cleaning staff, but regardless the whole hotel was immaculate. The staff were all great. Beds were insanely comfortable. Lives up to the star ratings in all those regards, however the hotel cheaps out on the little things that make the guest happy, like a small continental breakfast with their stay, or free parking when you are already paying to be inside the hotel. If I had not gotten such a good deal on Expedia I would not have stayed at this hotel JUST because they wanted me to pay for parking.
