Very clean and well run hotel. It had typically small Japanese rooms, although it was larger than most. The bed was a full double bed instead of the 3/4 size we found other places. it was between the 2nd and 3rd streetcar stop from the train station, about a 200 yard walk from each, or a 10 minute walk from the main JR station.
The restaurant in the lobby had a great breakfast buffet, although it was not included in the room rate.

This hotel could use a major renovation however it is maintained in a satisfactory manner despite the aging facility. The rooms are large with tatami mat floors and western style beds. The doors to the rooms are hollow core and light weight. The lobby is not very impressive however the staff are very friendly. The staff do not speak English yet they are polite. The only place to take advantage of the view is in the public space such as the waiting area at the elevator, breakfast room and bathing/spa area. Our three person room did not have a view other than the immediate hillside and vegetation. Be sure to request a room with view otherwise you may end up with the hillside. Breakfast is more Japanese style buffet with a couple of western style foods such as scrambled eggs and mini hot dogs with bread rolls. Don't overpay for the breakfast although it might be your only opportunity to see the view. The free shuttle service is good. I wish we would have known about it before we hired a taxi to take us from Nagasaki Station to the hotel. This needs to be better publicized on Expedia's website for English speakers. At one time this was a nice hotel. Today it is just okay.
