“Staff saved the day.”

Friendly staff and very helpful. Tiny room and a bit tired but hey ho, what would you expect for 2 star? The helpfulness of the staff and closness to the subway make up for it.

“wonderful hotel in great area”

The b Sangenjaya was absolutely perfect location-wise, it's two stations away from Shibuya, and within walking distance of Shimokitazawa. It's a quiet enough area that you won't be disturbed at night (hotel was actually very quiet), but busy enough that there are some great restaurants around (the tonkatsu place above the meat shop across the street is great!). The 24-hour Lawson convenience store on the 1st floor is also very convenient, although there are some slightly lower prices at the Seijo drug store down the street. The post office is also right around the corner. The staff was always friendly and courteous; front desk staff spoke very good English, and the restaurant staff was very helpful. Be forewarned that the breakfast buffet is the same from day to day: mostly Japanese breakfast with things like saba, rice, miso and sometimes scallops and daikon salad; Western foods included corn flakes, yogurt, bananas, blueberries, bread with butter/jam; also coffee, tea and orange juice. The rooms were clean and nice, but very dark unless you have the blinds open. Some nice Shiseido shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided as well, along with toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, pajamas and slippers. Nothing in the mini bar (just an empty fridge), but there's a beer vending machine in the lobby and alcohol at Lawson.

“super-Sangenjaya”

Though not so well known to tourists, Sangenjaya is a great offbeat neighborhood and a welcome escape from the insanity of Shibuya, Roppongi, and other similar districts in the city. The service at 'the b' was extremely polite & helpful. Our room was small but very clean and had good view of Tokyo. Easy access to the subway. A great bargain and highly recommended.

“Decent place in Sangenjaya”

Although this hotel is not located near all of the big tourist sites, the Sangenjaya Station, located on the Den-en Toshi Line, and about 5 minutes away from the hotel, makes accessing them alot easier. The hotel is located near many bars and delicious authentic Japanese restaraunts, as well as Chinese, Korean, Italian and Mexican. A Lawsons convinience store is also on the bottom floor of the hotel. There are also few Western comfort food restaraunts nearby, noteably KFC, a 24 McDonalds, Starbucks and Subway. Boutique clothing shops, a 100 yen store, a pachinko parlour, a 7-11 (with international ATM), a post office, a gym, and a Seiyu department store are also within a reasonable walkin distance of the site. The room comes with basic cable TV, however it is entirely in Japanese. All the rooms are equipped with a high speed LAN line, which was a personal plus for me, a hair dryer, a phone, a personal air conditioner, a mini fridge, a tea set and an alarm clock. Be forewarned that the rooms in this hotel are incredibly small, and the bathrooms are smaller. However, if you're a solo traveller like me, the b Sangenjaya is a good place to stay. My room was cleaned and stocked with ammenities (razors, brushes and tooth brushes) every single day, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a pleseant experience, and would recommend this hotel to people looking for a decent deal on a hotel in a quiet area away from the busy parts of Tokyo.

“Un hotel central a 2 mn de la station Sangen Jaya”

Personnel très souriant, chambre petite mais correcte et le metro est vraiment à 2 mn a pied de l'hotel. Seule remarque, la télé cablée est une option payante.

Sehr freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer und eine sehr gute Anbindung an das Metro-Netz. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
