“Definitely stay at this hotel!”
Tokyo is such a busy place, this hotel is a nice retreat from the hussle and noise of walking around! Being American tourists in Tokyo we were intimidated by such a new culture. But the people at this hotel made us feel so welcome and comfortable it quickly calmed us down. We asked for store locations and were provided with directions, a map and which train to take to get there. We asked where we could buy a certain product and were given a store name, map and directions and which train to take to get there. The breakfast was good and had lots of choices for us. The location is excellent as is it centered between three train stations and close walking distance to Akihabara. When we go back to Tokyo, we will be staying at this hotel again. If we ever go to another location in Japan we would first look to see if there was a B chain. The only downside we noticed was the small bedrooms and hard beds. But we did not spend a lot of time in the bedrooms so size was not a problem. The bed was hard to sleep on as we are used to a softer bed. It felt like we were sleeping on the floor. But overall it was a great hotel!
“Will stay there again”
typical japanese-sized rooms. a great location, good service and clean!
“Not Four star, not even close.”
I made the mistake of believing this was a 4 star hotel. Its NOT! The check in staff were grubby and disinterested, not a good sign and not what we expected for Japan considering our fantastic experience at Century Southern Tower. Formalities were completed, and we entered our room. Although small, its a business hotel, it has no luxuries you would expect from four star hotels. Towels are paper thin and very small, no face cloths in bathroom, poor range of toileteries, room almost undecorated, apart from tv and mirror. Air Conditioning loud, no morning newspaper. The room was clean as is the standard in Japan. It is close to the Ochanomizu metro station though. Would not stay here again, luckily it was only for one night.
“Comfortable and efficient”
Comfortable accommodation, close to the Tokyo Metro. Efficient and courteous service. Very good cooked breakfast each morning. Hotel part of a chain in Japan. Would recommend for solo travellers like myself.
“nice smaller size hotel with convenient location”
It's a nice a hotel, a bit hidden, but very close to subway and about 10 min walk from JR station (Ochanomizu). So, the location is great. The internet and breakfast were included. Internet worked well. The breakfast was reasonable, western style. The room is quite small (with a big bed), but that's to be expected in a japanese hotel (although, I thought that a 4-star hotel would have a bit bigger room). One strange thing is that visitors are forbidden in the room, but maybe that's usual in Japan? Overall, I think it's a great hotel.
“Bad hotel choice in Tokyo”
4 star hotel price, but a 2 star standard service. Hotel font desk doesn't speak English, with bad service manner. Don’t look at their pretty pictures; they are not what the actual hotel condition looks like. Also, its location is hiding in alley way behind buildings.
“Old English Books on Japan”
This Hotel is OK. It is in a good location. Usually people from out of town stay in fairly sterile areas of Tokyo. Ocha-no-Mizu (Water-for-Tea, what a nice name!) is close to the university used book store area. You can spend days there, looking at the most interesting selection of books from all over the globe. I think it is one of the best book buying areas on the planet... not just Japanese, but any language you care to mention. Also there is an area devoted to guitars... I almost bought a Gibson centenary for $5000 (not really!). Also the ski shops, and many student restaurants. It is also close to an interesting area of very old restaurants.. typically 1920s Tokyo. You can walk to Akihabara. There is a subway stop right in front of the hotel. So, I recommend it. The rooms are small, but the bed is big, and the place is clean, and there is free internet. The breakfast is boring but filling. The hotel used to be called the Hamilton Inn... so when I took a taxi from Ocha-no-Mizu JR station, the driver was a bit puzzled... but he found it. Good value in an interesting part of Tokyo.
“great place”
Great location. Along 3 train stations. Minutes from many tourist spots ie. Tokyo central, Akihabara. free breakfast. quiet neighbor hood so you can sleep or, like i said right on the subway line so you can party. Hotel and staff is great. Rooms a bit small but they have everything, and very clean.
“the b-uon ochanomizu”
