It’s a three star hotel 15mins walk from the bright lights if Shinjuku and it’s fantastic transport connections to the rest of Tokyo and beyond! Small rooms but it’s Tokyo. Highly recommended! Cheers N

My kids and I were there the end of March and The room was stuffy. The windows didn’t open and the air conditioning was set so that it couldn’t go very low. The air was much cooler outdoors than in the rooms.

The room was so tiny, you could not even walk between the bed and the table. There are no drawers to store your clothes. There is no closet. Your suitcase is your clothes storage.

We like the convenient location of the hotel being in close proximity to public transportation, shopping, restaurants. Would like to have a better mattress, climate control and more electrical wall outlets for the various electronic devices.

A great (and relatively inexpensive) base for exploring the wonders of Tokyo. Great transport links, lovely parks nearby. The room was challengingly compact at first BUT made sense soon after and was very fully equipped. One of THE great breakfasts on the 25th floor! Highly recommended! Thanks NCJ

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I was surprised with how comfortable the bed was. Super convenient having two convenience stores right there in the building. Would definitely stay here again.

I like that there is airport transfer from/to the airport directly to the hotel. Hotel is around 15mins walk from the Shinjuku JR station. This hotel is 'going green' hence they explicitly stated that there would not be any room cleaning (change of sheets, vacuum, bathroom cleaning) if you stay less than 3 days, however towels could be changed, if opted for. If you stay more than 3 days, the cleaning would happen every 3 days. I stayed for 8 days however I noted that there was no cleaning done even after 3 days passed (stains on my sheets from the beginning of my stay were still there on the 4th day of my stay). I called up the reception and told them that, and then that was the only time cleaning was done...however it was very badly done. After the so-called 'cleaning', hair was still found in the bathroom/bathtub, floor still has some stuff stuck onto them, and also, the cleaner has used my disposable slippers to put under the humidifier provided in the room, and they did not replace those slippers. I don't think the cleaning staff are properly trained, hence some training would be good. Room size was pretty small (I had a single room with a double bed). I couldn't even open my luggage fully. Table was small and also, the cleaner when pushing back the table, also pushed my stuff onto the floor and left it there. Don't think that was very professional.

The hotel seems to specialize in tour groups so there are usually long lines at check-in and check-out, elevators and breakfast, but the staff handle this efficiently and wait times are usually less than ten minutes. The bedrooms are small but well-designed to maximize space…the carpets should be replaced however, they’re worn and dirty. The bathrooms are the familiar modular Japanese design and although small, work very well. There are two breakfast restaurants, on 3rd floor and the 25th, which has great views over Tokyo if you’re able to nab seats along the panoramic windows. But both restaurants close after breakfast so they’re not available for lunch or dinner and there’s not even a bar within the hotel. However, at basement level there’s a convenience store, a fun “fishing” restaurant where you can catch your own meal and a coffee shop. There’s also an underground passageway to Shinjuku Station that’s really great if it’s raining or snowing. Overall a good experience but it’s not a suitable hotel if you want to meet clients for a drink or a meal and it’s not a great place for a romantic weekend.

Room was ok but tight for 3 of us There was no business centre open ever and no lounge where I could go work when roommates were asleep Staff wouldn't let me use power in the reception area to keep my phone/laptop charged so I had to go find a 24hr cafe in the pouring rain to do a zoom meeting

The Washington is a big, busy hotel but the staff are very good and will make you feel welcome - the rooms are smallish but comfortable, with hairdryer, hot water jug, fridge and a desk. There are many dining options all around but on a basement level there’s a seafood restaurant where you can catch your own meal with a fishing rod ! Ten minute walk to Shinjuku station which is a major transportation hub and there’s a shuttle bus to the airport…really good accommodation option for Tokyo.

Tochomae station is closer to Shinjuku Washington hotel. Tochomae is less crowded and less complex compared to Shinjuku station. There is a shorter under passage to Tochomae. Compare this to the tunnel connecting Shinjuku Washington to Shinjuku station which is farther away. Shinjuku Washington hotel has several restaurants on property.
