“Convenient for Shinagawa station”
this hotel seems to be a group of about 3 different hotels in different towers. they are connected though hallways which can sometimes be a little confusing. the hotel itself was clean and confortable and the staff friendly and polite. ther are plenty of shops in and aroud the hotel as well as two bowling alleys and plenty of options for eating in the hotel or in the small shopping mall attached to it.
“Onward Shinkansen travel from Tokyo”
A great location if you want to have an overnight stop in Tokyo before catching the southbound shinkansen. The Narita Express from the airport stops at Shinagawa, which is one of only 2 Tokyo stations from which the shinkansen departs. The hotel is directly opposite the Shinagawa station.
“Excellent hotel if you know HOW”
This hotel consists of four building units, connected not in a maxium manner. Conveniently located and has abundant facilities, including indoor pool, movie theater, restaurants, etc., etc., the hotel is not geared to non-Japanese visitors and staff is short of that international level. (Hardware is good, but Software??) If you do not look for much from hotels, then, this is a great place.
“Main tower is great, stay away from North Tower”
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful even though it is a very busy hotel. Make sure you book a renovated room, which I had during my first stay and which I believe are all in the main tower. They are beautiful. During my second stay I paid less and stayed in an old room in the north tower, which is rough as they desperately need to be renovated. The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to the shinkansen and Yamanote train station. If you want to explore all of Tokyo it is the best location because you are on the south-center end of the trains and you can go to all areas from here relatively easily. There is nothing much going on in the neigborhood though, which means you have to dine out or go out in different areas of Tokyo and take the train or a cab. There is a 24 hour convenience store on site. Once all rooms are renovated the entire hotel will be great. My advice, spend a few extra dollars and book a renovated room. You will love them. Overall I was happy and will go back.
“Shinagawa Prince Always a Great Stay”
The Shinigawa Prince hotel has always been a great place to stay for me when I am in Tokyo. Conveniently located across the Shinigawa train station, which is a great station! The hotel is always clean, the service is great with helpful and friendly staff. Also, I got a great rate for this hotel on Expedia!
“Convenient”
Can't be beaten on convenience and price. Go for a room in the main tower upper floors...they are the best....avoid breakfast..big queue and eat in the coffeee shops in the local area...
“Does what is required”
Basic, but good hotel, very conveniently located near shinagawa station (narita express + Shinkansen). Close by shops/restaurants, in a lively area. Very good for overnight stay, but if staying ore than one night, then perhaps look elsewhere.
“location location location”
very convenient location, just across the street from the JR station, excellent food and grocery stores around ( Queens) @ east entrance to station. The 7-11 on the grounds of the Prince and the stores on the grounds made everything very comfortable. If you like McDonalds there is one very close by.
“location is great for train connections”
The Shinagawa Prince has several levels of upgrades...some much older than others. The staff is helpfulbut the real prize in staying here is the location to making train connections.
“Nice location but no free internet”
The room was a typical small Japanese hotel room in the north tower of Princess Hotel. Don't go to Main Tower to check in. The hotel is very close to Shinagawa train stations with many restaurants nearby. Room was clean and quite, service was good too. No free internet is a big minus for a business trip. If you use the internet from your room from checking to next noon, it costs 1050 Yen ($15).
