“Convenient location”

Across the street from the JR train station in Shinagawa. Not necessary to take a taxi. The hotel name was Shinagawa GOOS on the signage so we were a little confused. The deluxe room was very spacious. There is even a laundry facility, ice machine and a microwave oven which was so conveniently placed near the elevators on several floors. The lobby has several little shops where you can do a little shopping.

Area recommendations
Tsukiji Market where you can find everything you wish to eat and bring home. Shibuya to "Hachi" statue and the amazing crowds. Harajuku to people watch and shop.

“Nice place”

Just needed a place to crash for the night. My only nitpick was on leaving my luggage prior to check-in. They seemed reluctant to hold it for us even though their suggested lockerroom was fully utilized. Staff was otherwise quite nice and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

“Shinagawa Train Station Location is good”

Love the location across the street from the Shinagawa train station. (JR Yamanote Line) I stayed here before as well and enjoyed it 3 years ago. Since then, change of ownership, minor changes have occurred: No bellmen service, no local phone lines to call out, no free bus to disneyland, very little english spoken here although they try their best to accommodate you. On the positive side: washer/dryer on every other floor, 1000 YEN japanese buffet breakfast in the hotel with a breathtaking view of the japanese garden and a free bus to Odaiba. (Worth spending a day sightseeing (Statue of Liberty, Fuji building) and shopping. For the expedia price, the hotel is worth the money. If full price I would look for a hotel closer to the ginza area.

Area recommendations
GINZA to window shop and check out the big department store markets. TSUKIJI around 10AM so as to not bother the real fish buyers . . . great for fresh sushi/ramen and inexpensive japanese dishes that line the street! SHIBUYA/ EBISU/HARAJUKU for young and fun things. I especially enjoyed FOOD SHOW store in the SHIBUYA train station. Great prices for the grocery store. ODAIBA for a rainy day as the malls are all enclosed! Venus Fort looked like they had great Italian restaurants, just like the Venetian. The Aqua City housed many ginza brand restaurants and no reservations needed!

“good choice”

we were very happy to stay there for 10days. It was so easy to go there using airport bus from Narita airport.(about $35 for 1 person) hotel is in front of Shinagawa station, easy to access train and bus. Also, there were nice restaurants, lot of store to shop, coffee shops and convinience store around hotel. only problem was wi-fi was not available.. I could not use my I-pad. (However, Hotel has rental Laptop service for $12 / day.)

“A hotel I would always go back to”

The hotel is located right at the Shinagawa station and therefore absolutely convenient for all your train and subway needs. The bullet trains stops here as well and I used it to go to Kyoto and Hiroshima. There are also lots of good restaurants, bars, and cafes located around the hotel. The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are nice.. the price is great, too. The hotel stuff is always helpful and polite. In addition the hotel features it's own clean and nice bars and restaurants. I was extremely pleased with this hotel and would always go back. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a nice place to stay with all possible conveniences.

Area recommendations
Recommended places to go in Tokyo: Asakusa (Tempel/Shrein, Tourist Shops), Akihabara (Electronics District), Ginza (Shopping), Gotanda (Great Isakaya restaurants), Tokyo Tower, Ropongi Hills, and lots of other places.
When to go
Japan is a wonderful place to go at any time but be aware that in summertime it can be very hot. I would recommend to wear light sports shirts if you walk around a lot. If you want see the cherry blossom trees blooming then you need to find the right period of time. In Tokyo and Kyoto the season is early April, but don't take my word for it, look it up. Mount Fuji will probably be more impressive in wintertime because it then has a snow cap. There is no snow on Mount Fuji in summertime, however it looks still beautiful and has a lot of nice lakes and nature surrounding it. Also consider visiting Hiroshima and its museum. Definitely visit Kyoto for it's beautiful tempels and shreins. The Golden Pavillion is one of the most beautiful.

“Great location but poor service”

This hotel used to be called Pacific Meridien & later owned by Sheraton. It's now owned by Keikyu Railroad thus the name Keikyu Inn. Be aware that check-in is 3pm even if they have rooms available, they won't let you check in. Their excuse being all rooms are being cleaned at the same time. Check out is 10am & you will be charged for late check-out. Location is great as it's just across the street from the JR station in Shinagawa. Rooms are bigger than the surrounding hotels including Prince hotel chains. Concierge lady was rude when asked to change the limousine bus schedule (can't speak much English but answered in Chinese instead).

“"Need upgrade"”

As mentioned, the hotel gave us a smoking room and gave us a Febreeze to wand off the smell. They offered to switch the room on the last day of my stay; however, there is no rhyme or reason to do it. No tea provided - the hotel was old and crummy. The only positive is that it is near the train station and lots of food shop for eating. The hotel is in need of upgrading...

When to go
It is more pleasurable to visit Japan in a cooler climate. It was too hot to appreciate the surrounding, people, culture, etc....
What to pack
If you go in the summer like July - light t-shirts and shorts if there is no pricey restaurant dinner. Pack a fan in your messenger bag or purse and lots of water.
Dining
There is food shop nearby the train station at reasonable price.
