"Small and Pokey"
Fair walk to get to and if you are unfamiliar with train systems you could easily get lost. Close to new Sky Tower and old Centre of town. Wifi was horrendous, dropped out often. Room was tiiinnnyyy tiny and my brawly Aussie bloke found it hard to sleep alongside me in the very small double bed. Good for those on a budget.

"Traditional style - Awesome place for backpackers"
Fell in love with the room with its traditional Japanese styled look. The staff were very friendly and there is a lounge on the 2nd floor to make food and hang out in, as well as a nice patio out front. They handed us a hand-drawn map of the area upon check in to highlight local restaurants, stores, laundry, and attractions which was very useful. Unfortunately it is CASH ONLY. There is an ATM around the corner from the hostel at the Post Office if extra cash is ever needed.

"Art Deco Hotel - Great if you want what you get"
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in Art Deco, Tokyo's 20th century past, or just an interesting experience. I stayed here because it has a beautiful Art Deco exterior, and was (is?) a hangout for the literati of Tokyo. The hotel interior gives the impression of being a bit tired. But that is because it is all from the 1950s (?). My room was comfortable; but a bit dowdy. The area around the hotel has many trees. It was a novel experience to wake up in Tokyo to the sound of birdsong! At night I was lulled to sleep by someone playing jazz in the Meiji University dorms adjacent to the hotel. Don't stay in the annex; nothing to recommend it. I'm not sure that I would stay here if you are just coming for tourism and want a modern affordable hotel. If you are coming to Tokyo on the Narita Express, get off at Tokyo station, and change to the Chuo JR line. Go to Ochanomizu (Water for Tea...nice name!). Go out of the station at the Meiji University side. The hotel is 10 minutes walk. It's a hilly area (hence name of hotel). It's an easier walk if you go past the Kandasurugadai post office, and take a left. Have a look at the map inside the station before you exit. This is a great area. There are many used book stores, some of which specialize in European languages. Also many musical instrument stores. Since it is a university area, there are many cheap restaurants; Japanese,Indian, Thai, Chinese, and hamburgers. There are also many bars and coffee houses.

"Best place to stay in Asakusa!"
This was the third place we stayed in Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto) it was outstanding. The room is a good size and very well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen (stove, sink, kettle, rice maker, full size fridge, microwave, dishes, etc), ipod deck, cable tv, wi-fi (upon request but no extra charge), lots of storage space for clothes and bathroom items, robes, slippers, and a big shower. The bed is also very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel also offers free bicycle usage. The hotel is located directly in the middle of the old town of Asakusa with the Sensoji temple around the corner. The Asakusa train station is within walking distance (5 min). All in all a superb place to stay!

"Good choice for Shinjuku hotel"
Pretty good choice for anyone staying in Shinjuku. The room is small, but typical for a Japanese hotel. The staff were great with English. They'll keep your bags for you if you need to check in or check out early, which is really nice. The WiFi signal isn't the strongest, but it was really nice to have. Location is great. 8 minutes from Shinjuku station, right in between East and West exit. IMPORTANT - My Expedia confirmation stated that check in starts at 11AM. THIS IS WRONG. Check in is at 3PM.

"Solid value for a well located and functional flat"
Fantastic location, and very functional extended stay apartment. New and very clean. Features all the necessary amenities for extended stay needs, including functional kitchen, refigerator, stove, microwave / toaster oven, washing machine, easy access to internet, digital TV, sufficient closet space for clothes, shoes, and luggage, very nice Japanese style bath, washlet toilet, etc. Location of the apartment is also an excellent feature, which is located within a one minute walk from the Azabu Juban station, and an approximate ten minute walk to Roppongi Hills. There are a number of convenience and grocery stores, in addition to small and charming restaurants, Starbuck's, Tulley's coffee, McDonalds, etc. within very close proximity. The apartment features a double bed, which may be too cozy for couples, but is sufficient in size for people staying by themselves. Overall, good value for money.
