“Good value”
Location not perfect but good value.
“A great experience for the business traveler. No frills, but all the essentials!”
I decided to try the Hotel Villa Fontaine - Nihonbashi after two very pleasant stays at their HVF - Shiodome property, near the Shimbashi station. This hotel sits right off the main boulevard, between the Nihonbashi and Mitsukoshi-mae Tokyo Metro stations, where many major department stores, including the venerable Mitsukoshi, are located. The surrounding area is also filled with neighborhood eateries of every kind. Ramen, Udon, Tonkatsu, Sushi, you name, it's there!! Access to the Tokyo Metro, the JR railways and the Keikyu Express lines make this location ideal for the business-oriented traveler, or the sightseer. Their complimentary morning breakfast regimen of salad greens cucumbers and tomatoes, boiled eggs, miso soup or tomato broth, and enough bread products to float your boat was an ample enough start to each of my seven days! The front desk staff and housekeeping ladies are to be commended for their politeness and guest services. I'll definitely stay at this property again. Just don't tell too many friends, or else "our secret" will be leaked! By using Expedia, I was able to save a considerable amount off my anticipated nightly room costs in Tokyo. This was my fourth Tokyo area trip in less than 3 months, so I've been trying to watch expenses, but not sacrifice room comfort and local area accessibility. The HVF properties all seem to be similarly and conveniently situated in close proximity to the area's main activities. Expedia, keep up the great work!!!
“Love Tokyo!”
Good location - not far from the Mitsukoshimae subway station (Ginza and Hanzomon lines) but the area is more of office towers and apartments so you will need to travel to more happening spots. Staff were pleasant and the hotel was clean and decently appointed. For the price I got, it was worth it.
“Very impressed.”
Good hotel and very good service. Breakfast was also good. Great location.
“Nice place, but be aware of bed sizes before booking”
Beds (semi-double and double) were both too small for two people. We got a free upgrade from semi-double to double room, bed size was the same though. For two people I recomment to not take semi-double or double room but bigger (and therefore more expensive rooms). Breakfast is poor, only half-contiental: no meats or cheeses or fruits, only white bread but salad bar and soup instead! ;-)
“Great location. It is a small budget hotel but very clean.”
The location of the hotel is great, once you find it. The room is small but very clean. The staff is very helpful even though they do not speak English very well. They really try hard to help you. The best way to get there from Narita airport is to use the bus and get off either at the Tokyo airbus terminal (3000 yen or Tokyo station and take taxi (710 yen). JR costs more than 5000 yen. Once youget to the hotel, it is very easy to use the public transportation to go anywhere in Tokyo. I have been to Tokyo more than 15 times in business, and still found it was a bit hard to find the hotel the first time. That's way I recommend taking taxi from either the airbus station or Tokyo station. It is worth 710 yen and will save you a lot of time. The breakfast is just all right. It is the same everyday. A lot of young Japanese stay there, an interesting group of visitors. I like this new experience not the regular business people in the other hotels. There are a lot of restaurants and shops near Nihonbashi (Japan bridge). You can not beat this price, but keep in mind it is a budget hotel.
“Traveller from Honolulu”
Free internet. Clean room. Staff very professional and friendly. Good breakfast. Close to subway. Close to a Starbucks, and 7-11. I recommend the Cappucino Ice Cream place around the corner. The guy there was super friendly.
“I would go again.”
it was only a 10 minute walk to Tokyo Station and a 5 minute walk to Mistukoshi Mae.
“OK”
OK
“leuk hotel verstopt tussen bedrijfsgebouwen”
Hotel ligt op loop afstand van Tokyo station, maar het is moeilijk te vinden in een klein straatje achter de nationale bank van Japan. Vlak bij een metrostation en een JR station is het een goede uitvalsbasis voor de stad. Hotelkamers zijn klein, maar goed verzorgd en prima internet.
