Unfortunately, this one was the worst of all the places we stayed in during our trip to Japan, the facilities are old and out of date, which would not be an issue if they were maintained and clean, but that was not the case. This place is in dire need of an upgrade and a thorough clean, claiming you’re eco and not changing the sheets every day is great but having to go to reception for toothbrushes and towels is a bit too far gone for us. The only positive thing was that the room was spacious and the closeness to the subway.

So glad I didn't cancel after reading reviews. No bells & whistles suited us just fine. Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was great. Close to train station. Would definitely book again on next visit. Highly recommend.

Staff were the best part of this hotel as well as the free coffee 24/7 except that you had to go to the 3rd floor to get it. Lights flickered off a couple times upon arrival, carpet was filthy and hotel needs updates. Hotel was conveniently located to the train station and restaurants which was the main reason I didn’t check out earlier.

The location was great but the stay overall was not good. It was supposed to be a nice night in the city as a family. The hotel is very old. Things were coming off everywhere in the room. (Wallpaper, broken mirror in the bathroom, water coming out everytime we flush). Safety hazard with the plugs & cables next to the tv. It was a real mess. We tried to change the channel and somehow porn came on. Seems like it was directly connected to the room for free. I could smell someone smoking from outside because it was so strong. I would definitely not recommend it.

Cheap hotel in tokyo but bed comfort compromised
The pillow and bed comfort can be improved. Cheap hotel in tokyo but the price to pay for is comfort level decreased. You have to take TWO lifts to reach from level one to your hotel room. Staff are friendly and professional.

This a 3 star hotel. The rooms are big for Tokyo standards . Close to the train. The staff is friendly. If you’re a non smoker, make sure you request a non smoking room.

Bad check in. Loud maids.
Took about 20 minutes to check in. They didn't have my reservation. Maybe hotels.com's problem and not theirs. The hotel staff are making a ton of noise and cracking jokes while I tried to take a nap. Can be heard all through the halls.

It’s fine if you know traditional japan hotels are tiny rooms with virtually no space. This is even small by japan standards, but serves its purpose and is two mins walk from the station.

Completely adequate—yet never impressive
Everything you need at a reasonable price right at Meguro Station—but the facilities date back to the 70s or 80s I imagine. I even think it had a radio in the headboard. I didn’t check to see if it worked. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was baaaasic.

Great Location, dont expect too much for the room
The location was great, few mins walk to the train station. Great selection of amenities was provided. However the bed was not really padded, have to adjust the water temperature for a couple of mins to find the right temperature and the air conditioning was very loud.

Weird room key policy
By most count, the hotel is nice. However, the hotel requires that you leave your room key at the front desk each time you leave the hotel. This is very inconvenient.

Great place to stay for sightseeing
It is a great location to stay at. It's not the kind of hotel you wanna hang out in all day but it's a great place if you just need someplace to sleep and then sightsee during the day because its right by the Meguro station. Also there are a bunch of places to eat within a 2 block radius. Also like 3 starbucks in that same radius. The room itself is small but most rooms in Japan are. But it was clean, the AC worked great, the fridge was not cold at all and the shower had hot water. They also had some english speaking staff. Most of them knew at least enough english to help us out which was all we needed.

Budget hotel close to Metro
Stayed for about 3 weeks off and on. Very scungy entrance way and whole pace looks like it was built 20 years ago and not refreshed since. Staff are young and try to be helpful but few speak English and even for those that do any non routine request is met with confusion. But on the positive side excellent location, fast lifts, comfortable bed, little noise (apart from one night when there was a storm outside that set the doors rattling) and good wifi internet throughout with better speeds than Australia (not that that's saying much). The place is well cleaned also. In short it more than met my needs. A couple of words of warning- they are not geared for foreign tourists and so don't expect you to arrive before 3pm and suspect will want to charge you an extra night. (I arrived back from a cruise at 11 and they couldn't cope with this but kindly held my luggage securely so I could go sightseeing). Also payment is in advance.

I needed a room for 3 people. When I booked the picture showed 2 bed assuming they were standard from the picture they posted I reserved and paid. Due to unforeseen trouble with subway we showed up hours after check in. They would not work with me and charged about $450.00 more for the extra person as they called humans they gave us a gold out couch with a comforter. They said I only paid about $800. But actually I paid about $1400.00. Needless to say I'm not happy with Expedia either.

Spacious room, close to train station and food
Of all our hotel rooms, this was one of the more spacious rooms. I loved how close we were to the train station, so we could get on our way to Tokyo Disneyland, sumo, and many other activities.
Meguro was a station on Yamanote line, with access to Tokyo station, Akihabara, Shibuya and lots more

Spacious room in an interesting area
The area (Meguro) was interesting but certainly not catering specifically for Western tourists - it gives you a good Japanese experience but it would be beneficial to know some Japanese. The room was spacious but old fashioned and the main limitations were that it looked worn, the air-conditioning didn't work efficiently and there were limited power outlets for our many charger cables. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel is well located near the Meguro JR Station.
Hotel is well located near the JR Meguro station. The hotel is a little run down but quite clean. The Wi-Fi did not work at all (not sure if it was a bandwidth problem or something else).

A Decent Hotel in an Excellent Location
Stay here for the excellent location. Less than two minute walk from the train station, which itself is just a few stops away from the more popular areas like Shibuya and Harajuku as well as having a few train lines run through it. Very good restaurants, cafes, bars and convenience stores around the area as well. There's likely a place to eat whatever time of day it is. Hotel itself isn't the fanciest, but its rooms and toilets are decent and clean and the staff and service are pretty good.

A tourist in Megura
This is not a tourist hotel. It's used by business people. Very close to public transport which gets you to other parts of Tokyo. No English language TV. Radio didn't work. Bed was OK. Breakfast was OK. I stayed here for the convenience of my friends. The hotel lobby is on floor 3. There is no phone in the room. It worked for 3 nights but no more.
