“OK for a few nights”
Nothing spectacular, but decent hotel for a few nights. 5 Minutes away from Shinagawa station on a hill, so hiking up there with a lot of luggage may be tiring.
“Nice Shinagawa Hotel”
The Grand Prince Takanawa Hotel is a very nice and peaceful hotel. The room I stayed in was nice size room and it was close to shopping and the main Shinagawa train station.
“Will stay here again”
This was the third time that I have stayed at this hotel. It's a very nice hotel, very good price, and located across the street from a major train station. Even the bullet train stops here. There is a bus from the airport that drops you off at the hotel. There are many places to eat outside of the hotel. The post office is nearby. There's a beautiful Japanese garden on the premises.
“A favorite in Tokyo”
I frequently stay at this hotel with a very favorable rate through Expedia. I often request a twin or double garden room, which provides substantial space for comfort and work during a several day stay.
“The best among the Prince Hotels in Shinagawa! Consistant, friendly, customer satisfaction focused!”
During the last 15 years I spent nights repeatidly in the Shinagwa Prince, Prince New Takanawa, Prince Sakura Tower and lately the Grand Prince Takanawa. This is only one among the Prince family in the Shinagawa neighborhood that has maitained its integrity. To many good things to write about it but I strongly recommended to peaople who want a taste of Japan. The Sakura Garden is a small heaven and a blessing. Food served there is great and a selection for all type of culinairy fans. The minute you walk in you know you will be takne care of in a profssional way that will make you feel comfortable. Friendly staff, attentionate and professionels! I love it! I hope deep inside that it never takes the path of the surrounding Prince Hotels. Keep up the good work and keep your integrity! Of course there is more to talk about such as location, layout, cleanless, quietness, etc. For an experienced visitor of Japan for the last 20 years, I would receommend this Hotel any time! Enjoy, next visitor!

“Near Shinagawa Station”
This hotel is right across the street (about a 5 minute trek uphill) from Shinagawa station, which was the huge selling point for me. Shinagawa station has access to the JR lines across Tokyo and also the Shinkansen bullet trains to other cities. The electronic toilet was a bonus.
“Great experience!”
This was our first time in Tokyo, and we found the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa to be extremely convenient. It is one of the stops on the Airport LImousine Bus from Narita, so you have door to door service to and from the airport. The hotel is located minutes up the hill from the Shinagawa metro/shinkansen station, which makes it very easy to access the rest of the city. They also have a shuttle that will take you from the hotel to the station. The hotel itself has nice, clean rooms (although small) and the staff is very nice and helpful (most of them speak English). Will definitely try to stay there next time I go back to Tokyo!
“A Quality Hotel”
The Grand Prince hotel in Shinagawa was a quality hotel with great staff who were very helpful and spoke great english. You walk out of the Takanawa exit at Shinagawa Station and its about 5-10mins walk up the hill (just up from the Grand Prince Sakura Tower) .The Queen room was much bigger than anything else we had seen in Japan and they have a great Japanese garden outside the hotel door. Not a lot to do in Shinagawa though, more mainly for business travelers.....however its only a short train ride to Akiharbara and Ueno.
“Good price, decent location”
Room size is typical for a Tokyo hotel, maybe a little more space for the money (I have not stayed in enough Tokyo hotels to know for sure). Location was fine for me, train station is walking distance. Some have mentioned the inconvenience of the incline walking to/from the hotel, but if you're slightly active, it's no problem at all. Plenty of food nearby, this was never an issue. The sites in the area are somewhat skim, but if you take the train, most tourist sites are accessible via the same line.
