"Calm, elegant, almost flawless hotel - true class!"
Splendid location except for one thing: Tokyo Station is frustrating for subway access. It's much better to cross the plaza outside the hotel to the opposite corner and enter the Otemachi subway station using the stairs inside the Sapia Tower building. My room had an "Imperial Palace view" which is true enough, although not an unimpeded view because of other tower blocks. The most interesting, indeed fascinating, feature of the view was Tokyo Station directly below. The room design is peerless in every way and both the restaurants, Hadaman for Japanese and Piacere for Italian, are very expensive but flawless. I had one disappointing dish of cold soup in a room service menu but otherwise this hotel didn't put a single foot wrong. Definitely one of the world's best hotels - at a price of course. But would I wish to stay again - in a heartbeat. Easy to walk straight from the Shinkansen "bullet train" platforms to the hotel (use the Nihonbashi exit and then U-turn to the right for the hotel at surface level). On my return to Tokyo Station for the Narita Express, a bell girl guided me the whole way, very helpful in fact if you don't already know the rather obscure walking route, and anyway how classy is that!?

"Has to to be Tokyo's top location when affordable"
Rooms are amazing in terms of design. A nail dryer? Of course. There are a few reasons why I clawed back a star in the facilities category. One, the ground-floor lobby, while delightful, is too small for breakfast service at peak times. Once you realize of course, other options such as room service can be explored, but no buffet? Two, no doubt the views from the most expensive suites, at the front of the hotel, are are knockout. As far as I can ascertain, these are the only unimpeded views of the Imperial Palace gardens from any hotel. However, the hotel is a tall narrow tower hemmed in on the other sides by often equally high buildings. So the other rooms have much more mundane views (mine was still interesting, with a glimpse of Shinkansen "bullet trains" sneaking back and forth). Some other Tokyo hotels can better this on average. Third, minor but worth a mention, I couldn't find a way to link the very sophisticated in-room audio system to my iPhone. A simple iPhone dock is in many hotels. I simply thought I should explain the missing star versus the high-achieving peer group. Everything else is stunning and if you want to stay somewhere that makes you feel infinitely stylish, this is it. I look forward to staying again when the deal is right or if I can ever afford one of those front-facing suites! The staff in sailor suits theme is cute of course and they are delightful in every way. Peter, the restaurant on the 24th floor, is very expensive, but brilliant for a treat.

"Central location, good room, excellent views!"
The hotel is located an easy walk from the Metro station, just across the road from the markets. Perfect location for those looking to explore the area and do some shopping! Easy walk to the station even with large suitcases. The room is a good size for Tokyo, and the bathroom was quite large. After spending a week at the ski resorts and showering in a tiny little cube I thought this shower was pretty amazing. The rooftop terrace has excellent views of the sky tower, and particularly at night.

"Exclusive hotel"
Great hotel with amazing levels of service. This was our second visit and we were given a room on the 26th floor so we had a great view of the parliament buildings and the Tokyo skyline. The hotel is easily accessible with the subway which you can access from floor B2. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are many options should you want to. There's a Starbucks in the adjoining Sanno building which is handy. Would definitely stay again!

"Spectacular Accomodations in Chiyoda"
My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon. I booked a night at the Palace Hotel Tokyo as the final evening of our journey and could hardly have asked for a better stay. Our room was lovely, with a spectacular view of the Imperial Palace East Garden and the service was top-notch. Palace grounds are a two minute walk away, and the location is otherwise excellent--underground direct access to Otemachi Station (a great hub for Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines) and a 10 minute walk or train ride from Toyko Station. While we did not make use of the restaurant, bar, or spa, the facilities all came across as first-rate. My only complaint is that the bed was a bit too firm for my taste, but this is a minor quibble and the linens, pillows, etc were otherwise impeccable. Great luxury alternative to the Mandarin or Saint Regis for half the price. Highly recommended!
