“little noisy”

It is very close to the station of street car connecting the train station but is in the heart of the town. however, it is noisy in the night.

“Too noisy with cable car outside”

The room was fair at best, but this is Europe. Great location, but with the funicular cable car running up to the train station right outside the hotel, running from 5 AM-1 AM late that night, and being loud, you basically get minimal to no sleep, especially if you are recovering from long meetings and jet lag. Staff was fair. Great location, but being that Lugano is smaller, I would try elsewhere.

“"lucky upgrade"”

I expected 3 star quality and basically it was. As mentioned, the air conditioning unit surprised us and it was much needed as it was very hot and humid. The room was neat and clean and as modern as I expected. The location is excellent as it is at the base of the funiculaire and waking distance to the lakeshore, promenades and to the base of Mount San Salvatore. Good restaurants and shops are easily in reach and buskers were performing in the Old Town area as well. The complimentary continental breakfast consisted of croissants, breads, jams, cod cereal, cold ham, salami, cheese, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, espresso and yogurt. I'd return to this hotel for sure.

“Good Location, High Price for a College Student”

Overall the Acquarello wasn't a bad hotel by any means, it was just a bit pricy for what it offered. Rooms barely fit the bed and the bathroom was like a rave if more than one person attempted to enter at a time, but if you've done any travelling in Europe this kind of compact accomodations should be more than familiar. Nonetheless the location is impeccable as it's located in downtown Lugano with the Train Station-Downtown Funicolare located immediately outside for a cheap 1,10 CHF, making transporting your luggage up and down the mountain extremely convenient.

“Will never go back”

Conditioner is inside the room as stand alone unit with huge tubes going out through half open window produces no cold air but lots of noise. Hot and noisy. Impossible to sleep with open windows because of outside noise.

Struttura che assolutamente NON merita la categoria 3 stelle; il servizio, e la qualità della struttura è AL MASSIMO da 2 stelle, MA PIU' CORRETTO SAREBBE 1 ...!! La mia stanza aveva all'interno il bagno della stanza vicina , separato da una porta chiusa a chiave!!! Pareti assolutamente NON insonorizzate, e tantomeno una fatiscente porta di legno (quella che divide il bagno del vicino); Luci non funzionanti, prese staccate con i fili scoperti... NEL 2011 IN UN PAESE CIVILE NON SI DOVREBBERO PERMETTERE SITUAZIONI DEL GENERE (SE NON INDICANDONE LA CATEGORIA VERA, ED AI PREZZI RAPPORTATI ALLA CATEGORIA!).

“Hotel Acquarello. ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo”

La posizione è ottima. La mattina presto, però, si mette in funzione la funicolare per la stazione di Lugano che attraversa letteralmente l'hotel. E' l'unica nota negativa, peraltro ben bilanciata da tutto il resto. Sicuramente ci tornerei.

Gutes Stadthotel mit sehr guter Lage, leider durch den Funiculare laut, aber für eine Nacht paßt es. Zimmer möglichst weit oben nehmen. Frühstück OK. Personal freundlich.
