“Highly Recommend Weimar Best Western”

Very friendly and conveniently located. Walking distance to all major museums and parks. Bed was extremely comfortable and rooms spacious. Close to the rail station although maybe a long walk with suitcases.

“Great location”

Perfect location - at the start of the old town on the side of the train station. Main bus stop as well as open air green market in square across from hotel. Reception desk staff helped me out with several problems. Very nice wide hallways with artwork. Fitness room. Would stay here again.

“Perfect location for exploring Weimar”

Hotel is just across the street from the main access point for entering the central part of the town. Rooms are clean and comfortable and on-site parking was available for a small charge. Lobbly service was friendly and attentive. For the price this hotel was a good value.

“Traditional service in a traditional town”

There's nothing to complain about in this hotel. It's not boutique, it's not grand, but we felt really welcome and looked after with attentive but discreet service and attitude. Different pillows? Magically appeared. Gluten free bread? 'Of course, no problem'. If you don't want the 19 Euro breakfast buffet (it's scrumptious) there are alternatives in the hotel's Viennese cafe. The rooms are mildly spacious, comfortable with good beds, bathrooms very well lit and laid out.

Area recommendations

You can walk everywhere from here, and you should. Just wandering and exploring is great in this place, so steeped in older and more recent history. Try the locals wines, available in many of the fantastic restaurants just off the tourist tracks.

“The Best Breakfast in the Northern Hemisphere”

Grand Hotel Russischer Hof, Weimar, is spendid in every respect. The rooms are an excellent size, the air-con works wonderfully well, the standard of service is extremely high and the location is first-rate. However, the cherry on the cake is the breakfast - whatever you want from a bowl of cornflakes and a cup of tea right up to cavier and sparkling sekt, they will provide it. We stayed there for 14 nights and had a completely different breakfast every morning - wholesome, wholemeal and healthy one day, bacon and eggs with buttered toast and jam the next, through to Bucks Fizz and smoked salmon as our parting shot! I cannot recommend the Grand Hotel Russischer Hof highly enough - it's better than Gleneagles anyday at a fraction of the cost.

Traveller's tip

Rent a car and use Weimar as your base to see the wonderful sights and historic delights of the region. Watch out though - parking charges are high and could add as much as 200 euros to the cost of a two week stay.

“Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt im Russischen Hof”

Bereits das Einchecken verlief schnell und angenehm und mein Auto wurde vom Personal in der Tiefgarage für € 14,00 pro Tag geparkt. Auch unser 3-Bett Zimmer war gut ausgestattet und im Vergleich zu anderen Doppelzimmern auf unserem Flur deutlich größer. Mit dem Frühstücksbuffet waren wir ebenfalls sehr zufrieden, der Service war schnell und sehr bemüht. Die Lage des Hotels ist überaus zentral, alles ist zu Fuß erreichbar - wir würden jederzeit dort wieder absteigen.

Area recommendations

Wir haben den Erfurter Weihnachtsmarkt besucht auf eine Empfehlung hin besucht und waren begeistert, auch von der Altstadt selbst.

Sehr komfortables Hotel, sehr ruhiges Zimmer trotz Straßenseite (optimaler Lärmschutz, Klimaanlage). Service läßt keine Wünsche offen. Sehr gutes Frühstück incl. Kaviar.
