Too short. I will be back. All the staff were there to make your stay comfortable, and they nearly knew your needs before, you self did.

Very nice ayurveda resort

Posted 26-Nov-2013
Cons: Towels and sheets very old, sometimes with spots :(
Location: Just 25 min drive to Trivadrum (the capital of Kerala state) and 15 min walk to Chiwara vilalge.
Very nice ayurveda resort is located only few steps from the beach. Peasfull & relaxing place for the rest. Reseption & restaurant staff is extremely helpfull. Good choice of dishes all marked for differet types like vata, pita & capa. Breakfast & buffet are vegiterian, but menu a la cart with sea food, fish and chiken. The only opportunity are: they need to change their antique towels to new one :-).

Pros: The view was fantastic. The hammocks were so wonderfully located, you could relax while listening to the ocean waves.
Location: Go for the Ayurvedic (rejuvenation) massage. It's so good!

Lovely, but doesn't match description

Posted 04-Nov-2013
Cons: This place really needs a non-alcoholic bar.
Location: I took the backwaters boat tour, which was lovely. It could have been better if Kerala enforced the no-motors policy.
First, let me say that I enjoyed my stay, and plan to visit again next year. But let me point out that the room amenities don't match the Expedia description at all. The bed is not a Sleep Number (by a long shot); there is no separate living room or dining area; there is no bathtub of any kind; no washer/dryer; no sofa bed. Turns out I didn't really need any of these things, but they could spare the guest some initial disappointment by describing the rooms accurately. Furthermore, I booked a special cottage - which according to their literature is supposed to have a sea view - and don't think I got one. The best thing about this resort is its focus on customer service. It's the best you'll find in India, outside of five-star hotels. Next to that, location is wonderful - on a small cliff above the ocean - not a problem at all to walk down (or even back up). The huts are nice. Overall, the ambience is perfect: quiet, healthy, and happy. What this place really needs though is a bar. Alcohol isn't served at the resort, which is fine, but why not a shaded place to sip on healthy emulsions or tasty mocktails? This would have improved my experience greatly. I had to take a cab to Kovalam in order to get a good cold drink.

Fantastic hotel in Kerala

Posted 25-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
I think the hotel has already a long reputation that says all. Hotel is overlooking a private beach, but the whole beach stretch also extends a lot further. Went in October and didn't feel it was much crowded. Bungalow and the whole setting are nice, I would recommend getting an intermediate price one, the cheapest looked a bit small. Hotel staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Surroundings are not great, a long small road to the main road in slope, with few cheap tourist shops. Therefore the hotel staff was really helpful to book cabs for 4~5 hours per day to go to the nearby spots/cities. Highly recommended.

Its for Ayurveda Fans & Not for others

Posted 22-Oct-2013
Pros: Seafront.
Cons: A lot
Location: Ayurveda, Ayurveda, Yoga, Yoga and nothing else.
We expected a lot from the Resort but were disappointed. The room had no air conditioning but a ceiling fan just above the bed. its ok if you are lying down on the bed all the time. No tea/coffee making facilities and we had to go to the restaurant even for a cup of tea and wait for a long time. restaurant staff are inefficient except for on or two members. There were so called supervisors/ managers walking around the restaurant area but were equally useless. We had to wait for food to be replenished, coffee cups/ soup bowls, tea spoons to mention a few were readily available and had to be requested for. Food is not good, a la carte is bit better. I think they are hiding behind the Ayurveda and healthy food and in fact saving on the food. Generally tasteless food. Only good to say about the place is that the reception staff were helpful and prompt in arranging the transport etc.

Nice view but expensive

Its a beautiful place where the resort is located. Though the food is normal, the minimum eminities like AC are not included in the itenary and you are supposed to pay more... But for the view, its awesome.

beautiful getaway

Posted 04-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
Had a perfect 3 days of relaxation- we stayed in a separate "hut" with hatched roof, bathroom included, equipped with ceiling fan, large enough to accommodate also bed for my daughter. Even though we were there in August, it was sunny, except a few short showers. Staff was friendly and answered all our requests. This resort is intended for complete catering to visitors needs, there is little reason to go anywhere, food served both buffet style and a la carte is tasty, most of it Indian and spicy, but my daughter who doesn't like that kind of food found plenty of things she liked. Enjoyed Ayurvedic massages and facial. Hotel organized nice 2 hour outing to nearby "backwaters" where we were taken in a boat around canals seeing wildlife.

Pros: Beach location & resort
Cons: Non-veg preparation

Excellent location, veg food fresh, hygienic. Tariff, Ayurveda massage, yoga session if discounted for Indians, will be appreciable. Taxi rates appear higher. Excellent holiday and health resort.

Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Resort

Posted 31-Dec-2011 on Hotels.com
We are a family of five. We stayed here for Christmas and were all very pleased with the resort. The grounds are immaculate and the property ideal. The resort is very private, located on a hillside with stunning views of the sea. The beach is clean and the landscaping lush with hammocks in view of the sea and sunset. Food was great. Staff wonderful. Full ayurvedic spa on property. Daily yoga classes, evening ones outside at sunset. Christmas Eve was fun. It rained hard for a full two hours late in the afternoon and stopped just before the entertainment program with dancing and fireworks was set to start. The thatched cottages are simply furnished, but clean. We all agree that we would go back to this resort. It was a complete getaway. Felt totally relaxed the whole time we were there.
