“Excellent base for a weekend stay”

This hotel was an excellent base for a weekend stay involving a work related trip to Rotterdam and late Saturday night return. Comfortable room and adequate facilities. Only ten minutes walk to the main station, good tram services right outside and just round the corner, and close to many of The Hague's main points of interest and bang in the middle of a good shopping area if it's shops you want. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Very good breakfast.

Area recommendations
We hadn't been to The Hague before. It isn't so cosmopolitan as Amsterdam and perhaps a little "sanitised" but lively and atttractive all the same. We bought a walking guide in the Tourist info office (close to hotel) for Euros 2.5 which led us round the main central tourist areas - we weren't slaves to it and went off piste a lot, but found it very useful. Well worth a visit for its architecture, its shops, bars and restaurants. It has very good art galleries - the Mauritshuis Gallery is a gem - superb collection. Escher Museum was interesting if you like Escher. Hmmm. The Hague was a very good weekend destination - even in bad weather - we had constant showers for two days. Just dive into another attractive coffee house or bio cafe till the rain stops - or stay a bit longer in the Gallery! There's plenty there.

“Top Marks”

We can't praise the hotel and all its staff and level of service highly enough. The staff were brilliant! We only stayed 2 nights and on the last day, we signed out of the hotel but stayed around as our flight back to Edinburgh was not until the evening and left our luggage at the hotel. The weather in the Hague that day was diabolical and we were soaked through by the rain and were cold and miserable. The hotel reception staff provided us with a room for a couple of hours so that we could have a hot shower and dry ourselves off for free. Now that's what I call service! We will definitely use this hotel again - and other Novotels. Well done to all the staff and thank you so much.

Novotel City Hotel location was just perfect. Walk out the door and catch a bus or tram just outside. Great central location.

“Excellent location. Good experience”

The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were fine. Great bathrooms! The hotel bar was a bonus and breakfast was included. All fine.

Area recommendations
De Haag s a very pretty European town. If you get a chance to go to the beach, this offers another view of the city. Borrowing a bike would be fun also. The trolley car system is excellent and the city is walkable.

“Good base in The Hague”

The Novotel was the perfect location for a short break in the Hague - its right on the doorstep of main shopping area, plenty of cafés, restaurants, bars. Central train station is only 10 minutes walk away and easy to reach by foot. Staff were very friendly and happy to help.

Area recommendations
The area directly around the hotel is good for a night out, some good bars/clubs. For the day time, a 15-minute tram journey will take you to Scheveningen, a nice seaside resort, perfect for a relaxing day out at the beach.

“Not that impressed”

Although the Novotel was well situated it is clearly not of a 4 star standard. The rooms, although clean, were very basic; the walls paper thin and the bed not that comfortable with just one pillow and a thin duvet. We opted for the full buffet breakfast but the quality of the food was poor - rubber scrabbled eggs and boiled eggs like tennis balls; cereals and breads were good but fruit was not fresh.

Getting around
The Hague is easy to get to from Schipol airport - just a short train ride and also easy to get to nearby Delft on the tram. Good tram service in the Hague but avoid taking taxis - they are very expensive.

“Will stay here every time”

Great location for business and I would imagine for tourists too - near good restaurants and transport. The rooms are comfortable in an unfussy way and it feels like a lot of thought has gone into catering for customers' needs. really glad to have found this hotel and will certainly stay here whenever I'm back in The Hague.

“great central location”

Super location across the road from the Binnenhof (parliament). romm was modern, spacious, comfortable and spotless. Breakfast buffet included just about everything whether continentalm or hot food. Staff very pleasant and knowledgable. The Hague is a great small city and we will go back - and stay at the Novotel.

“Most convenient Hotel in The Hague - will definitely stay again++”

Overall presentation of hotel is very clean and extremely convenient. Staff was friendly and buffet breakfast was good. The only down side is the bedroom toilet was a separate room to the bathroom?? it had no sink to wash your hands, so you need to come out and into the bathroom. This has got to be the most convenient situated Hotel in the Hague. Tram stop/bus stop just outside the hotel and frequent. Tourist information is just 2 doors down. A shopping centre is joined to the hotel and there's plenty of local outdoor restaurants within 5 mins walk. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay again.

“Approprietness and Convenience”

ADVANTAGES: 1. Location 2. Accomodation 3. Conditions. DISADVANTAGE: 1. Limited dinner menu at the room..so much needed on first night stay, especially.

Traveller's tip
Difficulties, delays mainly, as far as wireless internet connection is concerned.
