“A beautiful hotel”

The Hotel des Indes provides exemplary professional and friendly service. It is centrally located within a designer area with good access to museums. My room was lovely and the bathroom visually stunning. The breakfast was delicious and I also particularly enjoyed a degustation dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Area recommendations
This hotel is surrounded by excellent restaurants and designer boutiques. The Mauritshuis (arguably the best small art museum in Europe) is 5 minutes walk away and the Escher Palace and Museum less than1 minute.

“Cozy, romantic getaway near the center of the Hague”

Ever since my husband saw Mick Jagger at this hotel during a walk back in 1998, he has wanted to stay here. It has met every expectation and even exceeded our hopes of having an early check in(we arrived at 7am from a flight from W. Africa). They let us have an upgraded room that was empty so that we could sleep a bit that morning and they took care of everything else we asked. Having lived in the Hague before, we knew where to find delicious restaurants other than the Des Indes Hotel restaurant(seemed a bit pricey) so I cannot comment on the restaurant ...the hotel and their staff made our stay very nice indeed! We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
Voorhout and the Buitenhof - very central, can walk/tram easily, safe even at night. Walkable to Central Station even with a suitcase.
Must see
The fairly new Escher Museum now housed in the old winter palace of the queen(Het Palais) is to the left of the hotel entrance and the Denneweg, a wonderful little street full of cafes and quaint high end shops shares the corner that the hotel located on. There's the Posthorn Cafe 100 yards from the hotel entrance, frequented by our Dutch friends; a wonderful Wine Bar, a little further on from which you can see the back of the Mauritshuis museum, a must-see art museum, home of the "Girl with the Pearl Earring". If you keep on walking to the right from the Mauritshuis you will find good shopping at the Passage.

“Fantastic Den Haag Hotel”

The Des Indes is a wonderful hotel and the staff was truly beyond accomodating to us. We travelled with a large party (7), switched rooms several times and it was no issue for them. They remianed polite and pleasant. During our trip they arranged for nearly all of our daily outings, making reservations and calling contacts to ensure we were taken care of. I highly recommend the Des Indes. Not just for the polite and friendly staff, but the rooms and accomodations were more than expected. We received a fruit basket as a departing gift, a personalized letter thanking us for staying with them and 2 small teddy bears for my children. Great location - within walking distance to everything we wanted. Very safe surroundings and easily accessible to all publin transportation. We will be staying here again. My only request would be to provide free internet access in the rooms. We all agreed this was the perfect vacation and the Des Indes did quite a bit to make it that way.

Area recommendations
Our favorite day trips were to Leiden, Delft, Harzuilens and Voorschoten. Leiden had the best Windmill tour and Ice cream, Delft had the best open air market. We ate fresh, raw herring and it was delightful and bought nearly all of our souveniers here. Visited Kastel De Haar in Harzuilens and ate lunch in the beautiful little town. The gardens at the Castle are amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Must visit restaurant in Voorschoten-De Knip!!! Easy bus ride from Des Indes. Beautifully situated on a canal. My son fell in the canal and the restaurant washed and dried his clothes while we ate - now that's service!! The desserts were out of this world. If you go to Holland you MUST eat at De Knip. We spent 3 days in The Hague taking in all of the museums and parks. Please go to the Gementeemuseum,,,it's amazing. We spent 2 days in Amsterdam and loved it there, too. The canal tour and Van Gogh museums were highlights. Rijks is still under construction.
When to go
Went in Oct last year and August this year - both are beautiful, sunny times of the year. The days are long so you can fit in many, many activities.
Must see
Gementeemuseum in Den Haag, Van Gogh in Amsterdam, Open air market on Thursdays in Delft, Canal boat ride in Leiden and Amsterdam. Windmill tour "deValk" in Leiden. followed by the best ice cream ever made atthe ice cream shop on main street. Castle gardens at Kastel De Haar.
Dining
De Knip in Voorschoten. Ranks in my top 10 meals EVER.
Outdoors or beach
Rent bikes in Wassenaar at DeKievit hotel and ride through the dunes along the North Sea. Skip the Kurhaus in Scheveningen.

“Guter Service aber heiißes Wasser fehlt”

Ich war 3 Nächte im Hotel. Rundum ok, aber mit dem Duschwasser nicht. Entweder heißes Wasser bis lauwarmes Wasser zum Duschen oder kaltes Wasser bis lauwarmes Wasser zum Duschen, beides war leider im Zimmer trotz schnellem Technikerservice nicht möglich.

“Hotel de charme dans le coeur de La Haye”

“Luxueux, très central, immeuble historique et excellent service”

Parfait et sans reproches. Je voyage 250 jours par an et je vis dans les hôtels. Souvent cela m'énerve, surtout s'il y a des choses qui vont de travers. Ici, tout était comme il faut. Excellente maison, à recommander chaudement.
