“Very nice stay”

The front desk staff were pleasant and we appreciated the complimentary glass of wine when we checked in. The rooms have been upgraded and are nice and quiet even though we were above the highway. Bed was very comfortable. Nice views of the dam. I will definitely return!

“Quiet Location”

My husband and I spent one night here after driving the Historic Columbia River Highway from Portland, seeing the waterfalls. We wanted a quiet room away from freeway noise and the train tracks. We were given a room in the back and heard no freeway noise. I heard a faint train whistle before I fell asleep and my husband, a light sleeper, heard only one train whistle, at 5:00 a.m., after which he easily fell back asleep, so we were very satisfied on that account. The room, while small, was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts helped us print our next day's flight boarding passes by calling ahead to a nearby sister facility that had a computer/printer we could use. The continental breakfast was danish pastry (dry), granola, instant oatmeal, coffee, cappuchino, tea, hot chocolate. The front desk representative was friendly and helpful answering our questions about the area and suggesting a local sight to see: a replica of Stonehenge built as a WWII memorial. We also enjoyed the Maryhill Museum. The Columbia Portage Grill in The Dalles for dinner was just average.

“Best in the Dalles”

We usually don't stay in Motels, but I'd certainly stay here again. The view is of the Dam, Columbia and surrounding hills, which is great to wake up to in the morning. It is just outside of the Dalles downtown, situated on a hill, was hard to find at first, best to use a GPS! There is a free breakfast, but we did not try it, the view from the check-in/breakfast area was just as nice though. Compared to the other options in the Dalles, this choice beats them hands down.

“pleasant stay”

things were clean, staff was friendly. However, we had to ask for the free wine at check in, and on ck out found out we could have had and missed the complimentary breakfasts. The view of the river was nice. Only selected it because everything else was full. Would stay again under similar circumstances, but it wouldn't be first choice.
