The hotel is 2 mins walk from Barbican tube station which is on the circle line (2 stops from Kings Cross) which goes to most of the tourist places in the centre of London. St Pauls Cathedral is a short walk away. The rooms are lovely, (each with a coffee machine!) the bar and restaurant are also very good. If you are booking through Expedia - double check if you are expecting breakfast to be included, we thought it was but this had not been communicated to the hotel. This was sorted out later with Expedia.
This hotel is really set up for couples but they do accommodate children too.
Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel staff were the nicest we encountered in our trip to Europe. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the water was warm. The hotel was very conveniently located within walking distance to the Tower of London. There were also great restaurants nearby, although they were very busy. We loved the little German restaurant right down the street. The best thing about the hotel was the convenience. It was right near the underground station (Tower hill) and there were several places to grab a quick, little bite to eat. The only negative thing was the shower. The water cycled from hot to cold very quickly, which made for a weird showering experience. However, the water was very warm, and from what I read before I traveled to Europe... that I am thankful for! I would definitely stay again and recommend highly!
One bedroomed fully equipped flat. Excellent finishes and spotlessly clean, this may not suit all types, as it is part of a block of flats, so does not offer reception or food on site, but I very much enjoyed my stay and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good City location that offers good wi-fi, along with peace and quiet and home-from-home facilities.
I loved this place! If you like perfect and sanitised corporate style hotels, then you won't like it here.
The rooms are all quirky and unique- I had Sophie Rood on the top floor. The best big soaking bath ever, plus quite a big room for London. No lift though, so be warned!
The staff were all uniformly excellent, friendly and knowledgeable.
It is a touch difficult to find, but once you're in you are welcomed with a rare-to-find honour bar, in front of a fire with complimentary cake in the afternoons.
A 25-30 minute walk to the Tower of London and there are lots of other museums and other things to stay interested and within walking distance of pretty much everything else if you're active.
I will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone I know visiting London!!!
I cannot fault South Place Hotel and its staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were looked after. The food was incredible and the amenities were everything we needed and more. Thank you to the South Place team and everything they did to make sure we had the best possible time!
We stayed here this last weekend to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. We could not have been happier with the apartment. It was stylish, sparkling clean and had a high end finish with beautiful clean bedding, towels and fully equipped with all you could possibly need including wi-fi. We had a 2 bed apartment (101) with both double bedrooms at the rear so no street noise, very peaceful. At the front the large windows looking out on the busy city street made for some great people watching. We had a fabulous stay and looked forward to coming back to such a comfortable apartment each day. Straight across the road from Liverpool Street station making all of London easily accessible and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by. We ate at the Breakfast Club and had amazing pizza from Pizza Union. Exceptional stay, could not fault it and would definitely return.
The Business District's rich history encompasses dozens of ancient churches and monuments, the atmospheric Inns of Court, the Museum of London, and the Tower of London. Convenient for business travellers, it offers top quality lunchtime dining and historic pubs.
