The rooms are fine but unfortunately the lobby bathroom, at least for women, was not very clean and smelled terribly. This gave me an unpleasant first impression and I dreaded having to go to the lobby bathroom. The staff was very nice except for 1 front desk manager.
Well, this was a hotel at some time for sure! Great infrastructure but no maintenance, no service and no commitment what so ever make this a no-go destination. Thankfully we had an upgrade in the room and for the rate we were paying it was deserving anyway. The restaurant is shabby, the lobby trying desperately to cling to it's past glory, the floors are badly in need of refurbishment, staffing inadequate. Altogether one will feel sorry for the hotel.
This hotel was a really pleasant surprise! A previous Tamil Nadu Guest House, it has been renovated into a beautiful hotel and resort. The mattress and pillows were a little harder than I am used to, but probably comfortable enough for most people. The swimming pool was the best I've seen anywhere, and the pool staff readily supplied, towels, lounge chair with soft mats. The staff, overall, were efficient, helpful and most pleasant, as was the manager. The driver's quarters wasn't clean and comfortable when we arrived, but as soon as we brought this to the manager's attention the next morning, he immediately sent in a crew to make it clean and comfortable for my driver, and I really appreciated that. The complimentary breakfast menu was limited, but very well prepared, and the lunch and dinner menu was quite extensive, multi-cuisine and delicious! Room service was fast also. The gym was well equipped and the grounds were beautifully maintained with lots of greenery and flowers. It was a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere throughout...and I have no hesitation recommending this place to others.
