In general this hotel deserves high marks. We have marked it down for 'hotel staff' because, at check-out, we were given an untimed, distressing message that a family member had been admitted to hospital. After a series of rapid telephone calls we found that no such message had ever been sent. Some mix-up!

A very nice hotel with great rooms (although no tea/coffee facilities) but completely flawed by the fact that you couldn't sleep. We weren't aware of this until we arrived (in two groups) where one couple was offered a quieter room and the other couple a "noisy" room. We didn't quite understand this until later, and the complimentary ear plugs on the bedside table of the "quieter" room should have been a clue for what was to come! From around 10pm, either people outside the hotel chatting, or later the music from the opposite and next door club/bars kept us all awake. At around 1am I decided to use the ear plugs which helped a lot. The other couple just couldn't get to sleep until 5am, after which time the police had been called to deal with some trouble outside a club outside. The next day we asked at the reception for other sets of ear plugs and the receptionist pulled out a box full of them - clearly a sign of this problem.
If you want a hotel in the middle of the bar action, and therefore go to bed very late, it's perfect, but not if you go to bed at 11pm/12am. We stayed two nights, and the Sunday night was better but still far from idylic, which is what we had expected.

Quite a large hotel. Went for standard room which was on basement but still fine. Larger rooms upstairs. Dinner is only served early (latest 7pm)) but was of a good standard and quite reasonably priced.
I think you should be given the opportunity to pay on check out rather than check in and there is also a 2.5% charge for using cards which should be taken into account, as well as city tax.
Breakfast included, which is rare for Holland, and was good.
Walk to beach was nearer 30 mins rather than the advertised 15 mins but you could just as easily hire a bike here. Short drive to beach and other parts of the island.
This is a nice place, quite large and also has apartments to rent. Quite a homely atmosphere, with very good parking facilities. Recommend.

Lovely hosts - they provided information and bicycles and a delicious breakfast. We were also able to grab a bun and cheese for lunch which was extremely useful when you are bicycling among the dunes. The location is superb - the entire village is a historic site. We would heartily recommend it to anyone looking to get some peace and quiet, fresh air and an up close view of nature! Just remember to go to the back of the restaurant to get into the B & B.
"Close to the lovely old town of Den Burg - perfect"
Lovely reception in a wonderful place.
The staff were courteous, helpful and very professional. I speak dutch, but not all of my party did, and the staff easily conversed in english as required.
The rooms were clean, bathrooms well appointed and the breakfast delicious.
