“Great Staff!!!”

The hotel appearance was a little outdated and could use a little TLC, but the staff was great. They were extremely helpful and friendly.

Had A Horrible Stay There & Non Of The Workers Wasn't Concern (Not Even The Supervisor) Both Rooms Are Smelly, The Bathroom Had Mold In It, The Toilet Was Stopped Up, They Had No Maintenance & The Fire Alarms Sounds All Night In The Rooms & Hallway

“Good Stay..”

Room very clean, staff always kind and courteous. Beds are a little hard. The only complaint would be that the housekeepers are a little over zealous to get into your room the following morning. We've stayed at this hotel twice, both times everything was wonderful with the exception of the housekeeping staff. While I realize that they need to clean the room and get the linens, it is never a good idea to knock on the door of a guest's room before 9 a.m. If someone is there for business, they will have already checked out and the rooms should be reported to the housekeepers when they arrive. That would be plenty of rooms for them to begin their day. We were bothered 4 times before we checked out and when we left there were piles of dirty towels in the hallway. I couldn't help but wonder why the rush to pile dirty linen in the hall. If you pay for a room until 12:00, you have the right to expect the room to be yours until you leave it and not be hassled by the housekeeping staff wanting to get in to clean. Especially when there were obviously plenty of other rooms to clean and keep them busy until we left. I will say that the rooms are clean, but they will worry you silly until you leave. Front desk clerks are wonderful!

We booked into HJ despite the negative reviews we found; most alarming the one from the Mobile AL traveler wherein he/she found a stray, sick cat at the hotel and had to take it to the vet for care; since this was the most troubling, for me, of the reviews, I inquired about it upon our arrival, and have found that this kitten was left here, in a large cardboard box, to go to a new family, and the new owner was to pick it up after work; when whe arrived to pick up the kitten, she checked the box, and much to her dismay, the box was empty! Eventually the vet's office called the hotel, and the kitty and the new family were reunited. The kitten was neither sick or a stray. Happy ending! We could not have been more pleased with ours 3-nite stay there, from the front desk to housekeeping, all employees were extrememly friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel is an older unit, and as one would expect, it has the ambience and charm (and a few less niceties) than a new unit might have. We would definintely book in there again.

“Howard Johnson Texarkana”

The hotel service wasn't what I expected because a lady, on both mornings, kept knocking on doors, asking everyone up and down the happway if we needed supplies, towels, tissue, etc. That started at 9am on the top floor and continued on the top floor for over an hour, as she went door to door down the happway. I didn't like that.

Our room was very clean and neat. Everything in the room worked. Had two full sized beds.beds were comfortable, but not home. Had a mirco wave oven, and a small ref. to keep drinks cold.room had a hair dryer, a coffee maker, an iron and ironing board. Everything was clean. Television worked fine with plenty to watch. The air conditioner worked very well. My wife and myself had a very nice stay. And they fed us before we left. My GPS told me to turn right, when I should have turned left. There is a lot of construction in this area,They are redoing the side roads in Texarkana. I will have to see if they have a room the next time we go back. There are plenty of places to eat or get gas if you are traveling. IT really was a nice place to stay.
