“Across the rooftops”

We had 3 nights in Cortona during a 5 week Italian adventure. The Grand Italia is in the centre of this truly wonderful, small Tuscan town. Francesca and her staff were wonderful and our room was fabulous. We had a large attic room which literally looked out over the fabulous rooftops to a vast view of the modern town and surrounds below. Utterly superb.

Area recommendations
The town is small and it all can easily be done on foot. It is a hill town so there is some climbing involved particularly up to the fortress but it is worth the climb for the view and the bits and pieces to be seen along the way.
Outdoors or beach
Be in the main square for an Aperol Spritzer around 5.00pm when the locals with kids and dogs and all the family members trot out for a social gathering. Great fun.

“Beautiful hotel in beautiful Orvieto”

Very nice hotel in a wonderful section of Orvieto in Italy. Modern facility with village charm. Internet available and English-speaking at the front desk.

“A nice stay in Orvieto!”

I stayed here with my 9 year old son for one night on our way to Rome, so safety and convenience was important to me. The hotel provided this, plus a spectacular view from our room. The location was great because it is less than a block away from the main street where the shops and restaurants are located. At checkout, the hotel stored our suitcase for a couple of hours with no problems.

“Italy at its best”

Very nice hotel in a great, central location in Orvieto. We were lucky enough to get a balcony and the view was spectacular. We would recommend it to anyone.

“Grand Hotel Italia Orvieto - centro strorico”

Comodissimo e in pieno centro, a 5 minuti a piedi da piazza del Duomo..... Consiglio utilizzo di macchina piccola per girare nei microscopici vicoli che arrivano all'hotel
