Excellent 4 star hotel in the centre of the city close to all the sightseeing locations - 15 minutes walk to the Chain Bridge, 20 minutes to the funicular and the Castle District on Buda, 20 minutes to the Parliament, 5 minutes on the bus to Heroes Square, 10 minutes to St Stephens Basilica and next door to the Opera House. The hotel rooms are spacious, very comfortable and have tea and coffee making as well as a safe. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The metro was within 5 minutes walk although we didn't use it preferring the 'hop on hop off' bus which stopped by the Opera House. There are numerous restaurants within a short walk.
Couldn't have asked for more! Beautiful rooms and restaurant, incredibly helpful staff, clean, efficient - absolutely felt at home for a few days and will definitely stay there again if I return to Budapest. Thank you!
Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is situated near Hero's Square. It is quite a good walk to the centre but public transport (the metro) stops near the hotel but if you take a taxi the rates are reasonable. The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. We ate a couple of times at the Mirage Cafe and what we had was very enjoyable. There are so many things to see around the hotel eg The Thermal Baths, Boating lake in the beautiful garden facing the hotel. There is a Zoo and Circus inside the gardens. Also there are outdoor pools at the Thermal Baths - ideal for sun worshippers. At the baths are Spas where all kinds of treatments can be taken - facials. Massage, reflexology and many many more. We took the Hop On Hop Off bus which stops outside the hotel and that was good value. We also booked a tour called Taste of Hungry which lasted for 4 hours and we learned so much. The city centre is beautiful, lots to see and it is very clean.
This hotel was great! I stayed here for a full week. It was in a perfect, central location. Within walking distance to everything! The staff was friendly and always greeted me upon entry and exit. The breakfast offered was free, fresh and had a nice variety (and was also served much later than other hotels). The spa was cleanly kept and very relaxing. My room was small, but was all I needed as a solo traveler. It also had a full kitchen with ALL the tools to cook a meal (which I did not do...). My only complaint is that the bed mattress could have been softer;)
"Less of a hotel, more like apartments above a gym"
Bliss Hotel is more like apartments above a public gym. But they are good apartments, and it's a good gym, and the location is in a cool part of town. The girls on reception were pretty helpful too.
Other than the gym, there aren't any real facilities -- but since it's so central there's loads of places to eat nearby.
The gym is really good, and the pool/sauna/jacuzzi area (which is the only part we used) is well specified and clean. Since it's public, the water was quite heavily chlorinated, and in the morning, there were lots of locals doing lengths, but I did have some hesitation about requiring my daughter to change in the ladies area on her own, and the male changing room was not suitable for a girl.
We stayed at the Six Inn Hotel for 5 days for a city break to Budapest. For the price I was very impressed, our room was small but very clean and with comfortable beds (as long as you like a firm mattress), also with air conditioning and free wifi both of which were very much appreciated. The bathroom was clean and adequate. I asked for an extra pillow which was provided with no fuss.
We booked through expedia so breakfast wasn't included and we would have been charged 9 Euro a day for it. Having tried breakfast on the first morning I would say it's not worth paying the extra; for the same price you can get an excellent European-style breakfast from the restaurants just down the road and have it cooked to order and with proper coffee, freshly squeezed juice etc.
The hotel is well worth the money, it's quiet convenient and with friendly multilingual staff. Highly recommended!
Its in the Heart of the city, very close to the metro and hence all major places are 5-10 mins away. There are a lot of nice restaurants on the Andrassy street and hence we had a lot of very good options. The room was clean ad the staff was friendly. We were staying in a Thai themed hotel for the first time and the experience was very good. It was a very big room with high ceilings and large door. Despite being near to the main road, the sound did not disturb us that much. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Really perfect! Couldn't ask for anything more. Funky modern hotel in a great area- close to the Jewish quarter, opera house as well as bars and fab restaurants. We didn't need to take public transport anywhere. Oy need a cab to get to the station. The staff were all fantastic. Loved the breakfast. Highly recommended!
Terezvaros is one of Budapest’s most central districts. Nagymezo utca, the city’s version of Broadway, is lined with cafes, wine bars, and theatres, including the Municipal Operetta Theatre. The oldest metro line in continental Europe runs below ground in this district. Originally constructed in 1896 and revamped to celebrate its 100th anniversary, the line is still in use today.
