This hotel thinks it is better than it is

Posted 19-Dec-2014
Large hotel but badly. utilised areas, dark and dismal with much of it shut off during the day, only the pool area available. Mainly buffet meals which had a good selection but poor quality and badly maintained, forcing you to eat early if you wanted something edible. Hotel position means a substantial hill climb every time you went out, not good after a night out. Overall poor, but the staff were good.

A Classic Experience and a Haven

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Location: Eat dinner in nearby La Caleta. La Vieja was delicious.
This was our first time to Tenerife, and we quickly understood the type of hotels and resorts on the island from both online searching and from having wandered into a few nearby hotels. We were very happy with Plantacion del Sur because it was classic and comfortable. The decor and experience was not Vegas cheesy like other hotels. Instead, it was tranquil and classic. We arrived after a two-hour delay on our flight, and we were frazzled, but from the moment the valet helped us with our car and suitcases to the reception staff who checked us in, we felt that stress melt away. The best was the staff person, Antonio, who we bumped into in the lift and gave us the tip to have dinner in La Caleta.

Luxurious hotel. Beautiful sea views, lovely rooms

Posted 19-Nov-2014
We had a fantastic short break here, the bedroom was lovely, spacious and clean. Beautiful sea views from the room and the restaurant. Pool area was lovely and relaxing, double Balinese beds by the pool are fab. Breakfast buffet was varied and of great quality. Pool bar food was delicious too. All staff were helpful and efficient. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Nice hotel shame it up a big hill

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Really enjoyed our week. The food was good quality but got a bit Samish after 7 days. The main problem was the walk up and down the hill to the beach. Good during the day but stopped us going out at night.

Hotel von außen Hui von innen,...naja,....

Posted 14-Nov-2014

Great hotel for adults

Posted 12-Nov-2014
Cons: Evening entertainment was thin on the ground and the hotel did not appear to have much that would appeal to youngsters.
Location: A bus ride to Las Americas is good value and some great restaurants round about - search out Sebastians.
Excellent hotel, very clean throughout. Staff in all areas provided excellent service from start to finish. Although the hotel was pretty much full we were amazed that we never had problems finding sunbeds where we wanted to be. The pool areas were never busy and always peaceful given that there were very few children around. Well equipped air-conditioned gymnasium with clean equipment in good working order. If you are in to keep fit you will pretty much have it to yourself. We opted to stay on bed and breakfast and was pleased with the selection of food available. The hotel is at the top of a small hill overlooking the bay. You can walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes. The hill felt a little bigger on the way back. No problem for youngsters but those less agile would probably not enjoy the walk back on hot day. You are ideally placed for Del Duque beach with is one of the nicer beaches in my opinion. Easy and enjoyable 20 min walk to the bars all the way round to the port though opted to take a cab back for less than 5 euros. It is a quiet hotel so I would strongly recommend to adults looking for peace and quiet rather than families with young children.

Nice Hotel

Posted 05-Nov-2014
Pros: Service Decor Swimming Pools
Cons: Rather than having a few small swimming pools, they could have had 1 big one
The hotel is quite nice. We stayed for 4 days and the stay was pleasant. The only disappointment was that its slightly away from the beach, otherwise everything else was fine. The service in the hotel is brilliant. Overall good stay.

Super Beautiful Hotel

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: The breakfast buffet Great friendly staff Room are large and beautiful Excellent views of the ocean and easy access to the beach
Cons: Dinner buffet is extremely expensive
Location: Just the beach. It is far from shopping areas
If you really want to relax with luxury and decent prices, this is the place for you. You will have easy access to the beach, beautiful views of the ocean. Pros: Beautifully situation on the island, superb staff, excellent buffet - especially breakfast Cons: Isolated from the downtown and larger shopping areas and restaurants (though you can take a bus to the crowded areas and it takes about 20 minutes).

Una auténtica delicia!!!

Posted 03-Nov-2014
