Lovely hotel, rather isolated

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Gardens and pool area, staff, bedrooms and bathrooms, breakfast.
Cons: Access to free water, tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, more frequent shuttle to beach, staff to challenge sunbed "reservations".
Location: The hotel is at the top of a steep hill with nothing else around. Walking down the hill brings you to a few restaurants.
We had an enjoyable break, and would recommend the hotel itself, but advise to think about its location at the top of a very steep hill. This did put us off, and if we returned to tenerife, we would not stay here again only because of this. Taxis are however available outside the hotel, but on holiday we enjoy leisurely night time strolls and didn't want to rely on Taxis to get around. The hotel offers a return shuttle to the beach twice per day, but would be better if this operated on a more frequent basis. Positives: The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff very polite and accommodating. The gardens and pool area peaceful and relaxing. Good buffet breakfast. Champagne upon arrival. Lovely rooms and bathrooms. Negatives: At the top of a very steep hill, a bit cut off from local restaurants and beach. No access to free water. No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. Daybeds and sun loungers around the pools "reserved" by some guests before the pool area is even open, and not challenged by staff despite clear signage saying this is not permitted.

Excellent hotel

Posted 16-Oct-2014
I'm very fussy and have stayed in some top hotels, but this hotel is definitely worth it's 5 stars. It's in a great location if you don't mind a 5 minute walk to the beach but there a frequent cheap taxis, and the view is worth the walk. The staff are lovely and attentive, the interior and the rooms are very well presented and the pool area is up there with the best. We were only B&B but the choice and food was very good. I would highly recommend a panoramic sea view on a higher floor. We spent evenings out however the entertainment was fantastic, we would watch and listen from our balcony. The only negative I can point out is I believe water should be free in a 5 star hotel, you are charged for bottles in your room, it's not expensive but it's not something I've ever encountered before.

adult hotel with colonial feel very restful

Posted 15-Oct-2014
Pros: It was everything it promised and more
Cons: The showers need updating, a little tired, and the attention to detail in the housekeeping in public areas . Wet floors in the public areas.
Location: Shops are great, the excursions are a good way to spend time exploring the area. Tapas and cold beer galore. Music and entertainment around the corner
Welcomed by staff trainee who was very helpful and explained all our needs . The food is excellent and varied and the staff are well trained in service to the tables. However, the brusk attitude of the female breakfast captain was a little disconcerting and she needs to learn to smile and enjoy her work like Jose! The spa was superb and my massage was the best birthday gift (to relax and be pampered) was wonderful.

Excellent quiet hotel

Definitely recommend this hotel. Luxury hotel very quiet and peaceful. Close to nightlife if required. Only negatives are location at the top of a hill and not enough no smoking areas particularly around the pool.

Very nice hotel, enjoyed our stay!

Hotel was lovely, definitely 5* experience. We had champagne on arrival. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Rooms were lovely with amazing views from all rooms. My only negative about the hotel is the walk up & down the hill to get to either a supermarket, the beach or the main strip with loads shops, bars & restaurants. Will be recommending to friend & family. Thank you x

Dated 5 star hotel

Posted 03-Oct-2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Pool area, no towels left on sun beds. Entertainment in evenings
Location: It was a walk to local restaurants and shops, a cab was needed, not near a beach although the hotel arranged a bus to take you if required.
We were lucky enough to have been upgraded to a one bedroom villa, which was very nice with roof top area with sun beds and a jacuzzi. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. But, for a 5 star hotel it was very dated, even the villa needed a freshen up it had a stagnant smell although the cleaning staff were there daily. Once again for a 5 star there was no evening entertainment and my biggest grip towels were left on sun beds by the swimming pools in the morning and people would turn up in the afternoon to use them. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels, this was a 4 in comparison.

Stunning hotel, with stunning views, great facilities and great staff who could not do enough. Nice little touches like returning to your room after dinner to find a couple of chocolates with a little card with tomorrow's weather.

Fantastic five star hotel

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: Free bus to beach every morning. There was a lot of choice for the breakfast and diner buffet and the food was of a high quality.
Location: Free bus to a beautiful beach (get there by 10.30am to secure lounger & parasol). Aqua land was only 10 mins away and was great fun!
We spent a week at the hotel and were looked after by the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Had great room at the rear overlooking the dining area and the sea. The room was large and very clean. Exceptional hotel and well deserving of its five stars!
