“Rocko Rocks”
Fantastic hotel!!! We spent a week there b & b and it was superb, total relaxation. Dont expect 18 to 30s this is a class hotel.
“Excellent 5 star hotel”
This is a large, resort style hotel, and quite new. We were very impressed by the standards of service, and quality of the accommodation. All areas were spotlessly clean, as was our room. The staff was obviously very well trained, being courteous, professional and friendly. The room was lovely, the free upgrade being a very pleasant surprise! The standard of the food was excellent, with a choice of a buffet meal, a Spanish and an Italian Restaurant, all serving delicious food. The pool area was impressive, as there were two large pools, one being a freshwater infinity pool. There is also a large jacuzzi and a children's pool. We were able to sunbathe whilst overlooking the sea - so relaxing! There was also the option of sunbathing on a grassed area, under palm trees, which some may prefer. There was entertainment offered every evening, most of which was very good. The one disadvantage, we found, was that there was not much going on in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, with hardly any restaurants. If you intend not to go half board/all inclusive, bear in mind that you may need a car to take you to alternative restaurants if you feel like a change. There is a well stocked local supermarket very close by. The gym was well equipped, though there were no drinking water or towels available, for some reason. We regard ourselves as being fairly particular about our holidays, but would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
“Fantastic place to just chill out”
We returned last week from our short stay at this hotel. We chose this Hotel against others because it had a spa and excellent reviews. We were looking for somewhere to just relax, eat and drink and this place really hit the spot. The Hotel and pool area are kept spotless the staff very welcoming and helpful. We did all inclusive for 6 adults 4 nights superior rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were excellent and well worth the extra few quid. There was always plenty of room by the pool and the hotel provide a towel to lay on and another to dry yourself, which you can change daily. We had absolutly no problem with stuff going yellow in the pool and I have 2 pairs of white swim trunks to prove it. All inclusive drinks were ok (dorada beer and local spirits, house wine), served until 11pm, although they were very relaxed about us getting an extra couple of rounds in at 11. The quality and quantity of food was excellent. If you stay for a week or more you would have to be very disciplined. We were there for 4 nights so it was 3 courses for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did not venture out much but there is a wide seafront path to the front of the hotel but not really anywhere to walk to. There is a small beach you can access from the hotel with room card and there are beds you can take with you. The area leading to the hotel is a bit scruffy but if you want a change of scenery the Brittannia Pub is just up the road and very welcoming. This is truly a great place to relax and unwind
“Nice hotel but beware of swimming pool! Makes things turn yellow!!”
Overall the hotel was very nice but we had one major complaint which the hotel did not really address satisfactorily... on day two we noticed that our swimming things, t shirts, etc had a yellow tinge. My son had a white sun protection top to wear in the pool, brand new, and this had yellow marks on. They hotel provided yellow towels to go on the loungers and initially we thought that as they were brand new towels maybe the dye was coming out if you lay on them wet. From then on we used only the blue towels, but each day more things turned yellow, it was ruining our swimming costumes especially anything white or light coloured. The family next to us at the pool also had the same problem, as well as others, and it became clear that the chlorine or chemicals in the pool were the cause. This is only in the freshwater pool part. We complained to management who investigated the levels and took readings but insisted it was all operating correctly. One boy who was extremely fair haired even ended up with a green tinge to his blonde! Anything that got wet and was light coloured started to colour yellow. So the upshot was that several expensive nice swimming costumes, beach robes and even white leather sandals were ruined by the pool. Hotel management had some guests items laundered but it doesnt come out. However, because they insisted the chemical levels in the pool were correct they wouldnt offer any compensation. Since returning home, we still cant get all the yellow out.
“Did what it said on the 5 star tin!”
Plus points: Cleanliness, staff efficiency and courtesy, great grub, lovely swimming pools, uncrowded bars, fantastic gym/spa, overall a terrific place to relax. Negative points: A week wasn't long enough!
“Super nice hotel.”
A very well appointed hotel - with welcoming and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms with fabulous balconies with loungers. Great large heated swimming pools with plenty of sun beds and two large towels each which can be refreshed at will, and very clean and peaceful sunbathing area surrounded by pretty well-tended gardens. Breakfast and evening buffet extensive - lovely variety, lots of freshly cooked dishes, all beautifully presented and plentiful. Wonderful flower arrangements throughout hotel. Additional touches like greeting gift of wine and nuts adds to overall enjoyment. Interesting organised walking excursions available.
“Great time out from busy lives”
Absolutely perfect choice for us as we went to escape being busy and soak up some sunshine in high quality surroundings! Beautiful room (we were upgraded on arrival) beautiful pool area which was surprisingly quiet for the Easter week (tip: it is crowded by the children's pool and heated pool but walk 30 seconds further on to find a quiet, spacious area with sea views and a kiosk selling espresso/beer etc) and the evening meals on the terrace overlooking the odean was great. Typical Tenerife buffet meals but plenty of choice and something for everyone. Free shuttle bus to sister hotel gives easy access to the smart shops at El Duque and the lovely seafront bars at El Duque. Absolutely nothing in the immediate area worth venturing out for although it looks like an El Duque style shopping/bar mall thing is being opened adjacent to the hotel soon. Bit rough to have to pay 10 euros a day to use the fridge in your room - we didn't! Water and wine available from the supermarket 2 minutes up the road if you'd like to avoid the expensive hotel prices. Went as a couple but considering going back with our teenager children next year.
“very good”
a good hotel with lots to do. great for kids.
“Will never return for sure - not a five star hotel at all as we have seen so far”
Let's start with the positive things: The staff was friendly and helpful. The Miniclub and the facilities for kids are recommendable. Our room was spacious. Rest of the hotel was clean. Pools are five star 'standard'. What we didn't like: - our room smelt very damp even though we opened the window to air it out and we had ants in our room (fortunately they were very small) - we had to pay in order to get the 'Minibar' UNLOCKED (in a five star hotel?!) - bad quality of fish in the buffet area in the evening (breakfast buffet was ok) - the small beach which belonged to the hotel was not small, it was TINY - the surrounding area facing the island was not nice at all (ruins, big ugly buildings) - the putters for the putting green, which were handed out after a deposit were broken from the beginning. After asking if they had other ones, they said 'unfortunately not' - one was offered one entrance to the spa, but otherwise the spa area was not included in the stay and costs extra (which is also not five star 'standard'. The treatments are not included of course, I'm not talking about that) - the leather sofas in the lobby near to the terrace were old and were full of scratches (with leather missing) We have been to another five star hotel on the island (costa adeje area), so we really were able to compare facilities and standards etc. I guess we should have just went back to the other hotel.
