“very nice hotel.Staff friendly.”
very good location
“Great family hotel in a great location.”
Just got back from a late October break and had a wonderful time. Hotel may not be quite five star, but is perfect for families and is in a fabulous part of Playa de Las Americas surrounded with great restaurants and shops. Will definitely consider a return visit.
“Would recommend to everyone, old and young, fantastic for kids too.”
Fantastic holiday, very clean, great facilities, great food, excellent overall.
“the hotel is ok, but very premivite”
The hotel is located in the best spot in the city, the swimming pool is good and the beach is great. however, the room was very old fashioned. the bed was not comfortable, the mattress was divided to 2 and if you sleep in the middle you get back ache. the hair dryer was from the era it was invented (it took my wife 3 hours to dry her hair). the taps came out of the wall. and for some time we didn't have cold water in the shower (however, the reception offered a new room immediately) to sum up, we enjoyed the location, the service and the food very much. the room was the only problem.
“Beware the mountain view rooms”
We had a first floor room overlooking the mountains but managed to get it changed to the fith floor poolview so much better, the mountain view is more a view of the road and anything but peaceful, the Pool view rooms are as they say but the higher the better as the lower room can suffer with noise, The good news is no one can reserve sun beds and those who try to just get therir towels and books removed full marks for that. Pool warm and clean and even with the hotel being full the pool was never that busy.
“as good as ever”
i have just returned from a two week stay in at th med palace. yes its a bit dated and i imagine they will get around to a refurb but its in a fantastic location, great showers, runs like clockwork , great breakfast and best pool/sun bathe ever!! shops all very nice, lots of choice of food and great night life! fell in love with claudio and casper at los taraleges, best show around!!
“great hotel, amazing location and very nice staff”
overall the hotel is centrally located, has everything needed and the service is everything i expected and above. the bottom line, highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Not 5-star by any means”
I have just returned from a two week stay at the Mediterranean Palace - which is part of the Mare Nostrum Resort complex. The hotel decor is very tired and is in significant need of attention. We had paid extra for a pool view, otherwise you were looking onto roads and other hotels, however, this proved costly due to the noise from the activities, ie water aerobics, inflatable obstacle course, etc. The room was small and it two needed some modernisation. From a location perspective it is very central, however, this causes a financial problem as all the shops, bars, restaurants, etc., all charge exorbitant prices. Two G&Ts cost over €13 - 1l bottle of Gordon's Gin for a supermarket in Los Cristianos was €7...I guess the extra charge was all in the service!!! Would recommend going to Adeje and staying at the Hotel Gran Adeje. Hotel is stunning, so is the area albeit a bit quite.
“great hotel”
while this hotel has changed to suit families it still keeps up great standards
“Nice enough, but NOT 5 star....”
First, a couple of Expedia issues...booked over the phone, flew from Manchester. The agent offered Purple Parking as opposed to in the airport, and assured me that it was on site. Rubbish, they're MILES away and took ages to collect us on our return. A Mickey Mouse outfit, AVOID. Flew Monarch and I discussed baggage allowance with the agent. He gave me the right info re: weight, but elected not to inform me that hold baggage was chargeable (apparently there's a small disclaimer somewhere in the paperwork you get, but that's only sent AFTER you book the holiday). Luckily we had only 1 bag between us 'cos it's £25/bag/flight so a group of 4 with a hold bag each will need an extra £200 just to get their stuff out and back. Dodgy dealings in my book since the check-in people said there had been a few in the same boat, all having booked Expedia and all not knowing about the fee..... Hotel was fine, stayed b&b and the breakfasts were fantastic. Buffet style, of course, but couldn't fault them. Some noise due to maintenance work around the (huge) pool, grinding/drilling etc. but not too intrusive. At least they were doing something to freshen the place up as I think its best days are behind it. Stones throw (literally) to the beach, good location for restaurants, 25ish Euro to/from airport by taxi. We'd booked last minute & got a great deal. I think I'd have been a bit disappointed had we paid top dollar. Go back? yeah, I think so. Wont be paying full price though...
